The X Factor's Sam Bailey scores 2013 Christmas No.1

The X Factor's Sam Bailey has scored the 2013 Christmas number one with her winner's single 'Skyscraper'.

The star - who was crowned this year's X Factor champion last Sunday (December 15) - shifted 149,000 copies of the single to beat Pharrell Williams and Leona Lewis to the top spot.

Profits from sales of Bailey's debut single will be split between Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and Together For Short Lives.

On topping this year's festive countdown, Bailey told OfficialCharts.com: "Being Number 1 is absolutely amazing!

"It really is the icing on the cake and it means Great Ormond Street Children's Charity and Together For Short Lives will benefit from the single which makes it extra special."

Martin Talbot, chief executive of the Official Charts Company, commented: "Congratulations to Sam Bailey, the UK's Official 2013 Christmas Number 1! X Factor winner one weekend, Christmas Number 1 the next.
