DUBSTEP IS THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED EVER...Metal generally tends to be ****. There's some good punk bands out there but again most of it tends to be shoite. Not mad into Country myself..most mainstream poppy pop wrecks my head

I always said heavy metal but theres this club in Sheffield called Corp and well when Im pissed its quite fun pushing people and shouting FACK OFF!!! Although I wouldnt choose to listen to it sober.

I dont really like classical/opera although there are a few songs that I enjoy (e.g. Time to Say Goodbye). I just wouldnt listen to them every day, or weekly, or monthly...

I only listen to live jazz music, theres none in my iTunes, but I wouldnt say I disliked that genre.
Hip Hop is just ok.

I feel out of love with Hip Hop(still like some stuff, but most of it has passed me by), and hate the current version of pop.

Classic, alternative rock, indie, 70s/80s pop and industrial are my favorites.

Most chart pop/chart RNB/most chart music generally

That screamo, thrash, "cant tell what they even saying because they're screaming" stuff. Absolutely terrible.

Then there's part of that that's almost like pig-squeal noises and growling sounds, wtf's that all about?!

This, though would replace classical and pop for punk and metal. Guess there're bits of every genre I like but can't stand this watered-down, bubblegum version of pop either.

Metal/heavy metal/screamo is one of the best genres and one of the most difficult to play, it requires the most skill

in comparison to getting some producer to give you a track and some writer to give you the lyrics like most chart artists these days

I quite like something out of every genre really.

I'm more into my indie pop, indie rock, folk, alternative rock though.

I'd say my least favourite is rap, I appreciate the efforts and skill, but I am not really into it, but some of my favourite artists are in that genre of work, Frank Ocean and Kendrick to name a couple

Still sounds bloody awful on the whole.

Ugh I don't understand people who base their opinion on a genre on how much effort is put into it/dislike it if the artists are just given songs to sing/etc

Music is about listening and if it sounds good then that's all that matters

Exactly. The unintelligible, inhuman growls of death and the high-pitched shrieks of black must be exceptionally difficult to pull off and I remember reading something saying extreme metal performers are at the risk of never speaking again should they snap their vocal chords, which was quite eye-opening.

Never really venture beyond the likes of Slayer and Slipknot in terms of heaviness but metal on the whole has got to be one of the most complex, layered genres of all time. Deep Purple's quite unique in the sense that they play traditional heavy metal but you can really see the influences of classical and opera styles on them.

how the **** can you "dislike" classical? I can understand never listening to it, but actively disliking it is sheer stupidity

Can't stand metalcore though, like the video you posted. Reminds me of whiney emo bands like Bring Me The Horizon and Suicide Silence.

Country and Swing.

The others I can like if the artist is good, obviously there's genres I like more than others but the only two I cannot abide is the two above.
