Why do some women that have been in a straight relationship that has ended badly, then start a new relationship with a woman?.

It's not really as simple as that. I doubt that a bad relationship would be able to "turn" anyone, as sexuality doesn't work by working out which gender you're least pissed off with at any given time.
No one uses "bad experiences" to explain men who have heterosexual relationships, but then come out as gay/bi.
I'd guess that they've always been bi (at least).

a woman in a straight relationship with a child and very happy until her other half cheated and left.
if this relationship did not break down, I cant see the chances of that person wanting a relationship with a woman.
plus do you think lesbian or bi woman take advantage of that person because that person is at a very low point in their life.
Jesus.

Yes, all of them. Being dumped wouldn't make me start liking the D, and I'm sure being dumped wouldn't make you start liking vagina either.
Sexuality is genetic, not based around mood.

I think mood has a big part to play in the choices we make!
im in the mood for dancing and romancing.

Those feelings would have still had to be there to begin with. That's the key factor.
Sheriff, you seem like a pretty heterosexual guy to me. Nothing wrong with that - but if you had a bad relationship and were cheated on, I don't envisage you suddenly wanting men to jizz on your face.
And no, I don't believe they've been taken advantage of. If they are building an increasingly close relationship with someone, then it would work in exactly the same way as straight/openly gay people.

This happened to a woman I used to work with, she was married with 2 children but the relationship broke down. When I met her she was in a relationship with a woman and said that she fell in love with her partner as the "person" she was. I asked if she had had gay feelings before and she said she thinks she had but went with her head and not her heart and did the married / kids thing. The relationship she was in was her first same sex experience. They were very happy

its true I like to do the jizzing part
this thread is based on a real person.
I just think women that are feeling crap can find them selves in a same sex relationship if their co worker or friend is a lesbian, and they in away take advantage of the situation.

That's fair enough. We'll just have to agree to disagree as I don't think that sexuality works like that, or feeling low enables it to be manipulated. I could be feeling rock bottom, and there still isn't a man alive that could take advantage of me.
And despite obviously being the weaker sex, I don't think women would allow that either.

Yep. From a woman's perspective I'd say the exact same. I've had the most horrendous of relationships and as a result I've shied away from involvement ever since but I have (and never will have) no inclination to get involved with someone of my own gender. I fancy men, and agree it's in your genetic makeup. I kissed a female friend once on a drunken night out purely as a dare - not because I was at all attracted to her - and it did nothing whatsoever for me.
I firmly believe you have to be predisposed to have a relationship with your own gender, you are what you are, no-one can choose, be coerced or 'decide' to be gay, it's not a lifestyle choice.

I kinda see where Sherriff is coming from though, relationships are not based purely on sex, a woman coming out of a difficult relationship with a man might be tempted to try something different for all sorts of reasons including getting over 50% of the house work done:dance2: As to being taken advantage of I'm not so sure, I suppose it depends on how much of a battering the persons self esteem has taken.

Must admit, I am more convinced by gay male sexuality. Gay men nowadays go to men without ever having sex with women. My neighbour scrunches his nose and makes puking noises whenever the notionof straight sex is mentioned. Lesbians often have long term relationships with guys first, and would probably never be gay if things with the guys worked out. I feel bad about saying this but a female ex-colleague got knocked about by her male fiance, she ditched him for a woman, came out as gay, they split but the next woman knocked her about too, now she's with a man, lol.
Actress Heather Peace was only a lesbian after her boyfriend ditched her for her best mate.
Angelina Jolie, Amber Heard, Anna Paqiun, Keeley Hawes all made a big attention seeking deal about being bi loving women but are with men and will probably never look back.

It's not beyond the realms of possiblity that a woman scorned would go into a relationship with another woman as a revenge tactic. Women are after all great at multi tasking

No but you would imagine that you'd have to be in some way into same sex - sex though? I don't know, I know for me anyway the thought of doing stuff with another woman isn't very appealing

For some though it's just sex, same as being a hooker I suppose you can blank your mind and think of England! Depends I suppose how strongly you feel about the break up or how you were treated in the relationship. I doubt it happens very often (as a revenge tactic I mean), in the main I expect the person is bi
