Someone gave you a book and you found out it was your life story, would you continue until the end?

I would probably rip it up after reading the first page.

Oh good question. I'd be tempted but also scared to read past what I had already gone through.

I imagine my life story to be the length of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. :idc:

Yeah, that's my take as well. Of course it'd be nice to see what the future has in store but would be daunted to read past 20 years.

I'd like to think that the book in question only contained your life story if things panned out in a certain direction and that it wouldn't be too late to correct things messing up ... second chance and all that.

Spoilers!
Surely it's a paradox though... I'd you read it, you could then alter any negative outcomes, and one alteration could have a domino effect.

E.g. book says you have an accident in France and lose a foot. So you don't go to France. But then while you were meant to be in France - you have a one night stand and knock someone up / get pregnant. You go from amputee to parent in one move...

Unless it's all vague and "fated"...

Yeah same. I wouldn't want to know how I died or read about tragic things that happen to me in the future because I'd go mad trying to stop them from happening.

I wouldn't read it as I would go crazy, also wouldn't want to read most of my past. Maybe my childhood

I would read all up to the present day, as from learning from your past you could change your future destiny.

Thought provoking question. I don't know if I could resist the temptation. Something's are better not known.

If I thought by reading it I could potential change what's fated then hell yeah, I'd read it eagerly. If it was gonna be set in stone I'd be better off exerting all my willpower and burning it unread, cos if it wasn't good I'd be in despair.

I'd want to read it just out of curiosity, but then maybe life would be super boring without any surprises.

You're probably right, the width of the book could be close enough. :idc:
