Has there been much promotion for this series? Not sure if i've just missed it or not but i only realised it was on tonight due to browsing the tv guide.

No it's completely ****. They haven't done any proper promotion (ie. bill boards) since Celebrity Big Brother Winter 2012.

I've had Channel 5 on since about 4 and haven't yet seen the ad.

A lot of people on Twitter are saying stuff like "why didn't I know CBB started today?!" so Big Brother is kinda relying on social media to tell everyone lol

To generate a decent audience you need to get on shows like Graham Norton, Jonathan Ross or Alan Carr, that's what use to happen with Davina but it seems Emma Willis doesn't get the invites. I guess she'll get the chance when she'll most likely be doing the rounds when she's promoting The Voice but that'll be half way through CBB.

Compare this to the promotion of Celebrity Super Spa which was squeezed in between Big Brother final episodes makes me sick. I saw adverts for celebrity super spa almost in every ad break. I think Channel 5 have forgotten that their last Jan BB got 2.8 million average viewers which is the highest ever on par with cbb8 so why have they given up on it?

Nothing.

I don't understand why they cant put a little logo at the top of the screen either saying "Big Brother 9pm tonight" like Channel 4 used to do.

Its simple little things like that get people talking and im no marketing expert but doesn't it seem like a simple obvious thing to do?

Remember CBB9 with massive billboards, London buses covered in CBB and bust stops and magazines all advertising it.

This year?.....A 10 second advert on Channel 5 to an average audience of about 700,000 who put the kettle on whenever theres an ad break anyway.

They haven't even done a countdown.

If they are relying on social media they have failed, its not on my facebook timeline and its not trending on Twitter.
