Why are all relationships in the house based on looks?

I know I am fighting against centuries of love and lust, but it irks when whenever anybody goes in the BB house, it's the good looks that attract people to people, despite either person being a liar or a cheat.

I know that happens in life, but you'd think on live TV celebs especially wouldn't exhibit this flaw in human nature for all to see.

I think Casey is a lovely woman, and is better looking than Jasmine. I know people will disagree with me but there you go.

The fact she went straight sexually for Lee (although they were chained together but still), was based purely on his appearance.

That's the advantage good looking guys have over ugly men. Good looking guys can be a cheat, a liar, a true ****, but women ignore the person and go straight for the looks.

He's not a classic male beauty by any stretch of the imagination. If he lived during ancient roman times, no one would be carving his likeness out of marble.

..hmm, I think it can work both ways though...people who are perceived as 'good looking' can also be judged harshly in certain areas as well..almost dismissed as 'superficial people..'...but with physical attraction then yeah, by definition there has to be something to physically attract two people in the first instance but then beyond that initial thing, it does come down to character etc...

When it comes to people like Jasmine, Lee and Casey... they're all shallow people. We all know what Lee is like, and he's displaying it for all to see if you didn't already know. Jasmine has had plastic surgery [and not for medical reasons] so she's obviously shallow.. and I'd like to say 'Casey is famous for' ... but unfortunately nobody seemed to even know who she is/was... however, apparently she is a model.. model=shallow. That's life though isn't it? So, in a way, I'm glad it happens, because it shows that celebrities are just normal people (although nowadays, the celebrities in there are just normal people... :laugh:) who are as flawed as the rest of us. Ultimately, the celebrities aren't in there for long enough to form actual potential relationships so a quick fling is all you're ever likely to see, a bit of flirting, nothing too heavy.

As for the bit of your post I've bolded - well I don't see that as a bad thing. Wouldn't a woman rather fall in love with a man who has tried his best to get her attention and win her over? I think that's what most women want; some choose the wrong ones (like Lee) because they're attracted to them but that's just superficial. True love isn't likely to occur in Celebrity Big Brother because they're only in there for a couple of weeks.

Yes of course, but that's why I say you should let things develop naturally. If someone jumps into a relationship based on first impressions, they can't moan when things go wrong really.

..I guess that might be true in some cases because yeah, there would be females who would be first attracted to physical looks but it's the same with guys as well...I don't think it's always the case though or not even mostly because I know a lot of what would be described as 'geeks/nerds' etc who are very popular with girls because they have amazing personalities and I think for an actual relationship, rather than a one night thing...personality is what attracts either sex the most...obviously there are also people who just go on looks alone, like a 'trophy' thing but I wouldn't say that's the 'norm'...

In don't find Lee at all attractive,never have done,I think we do go for looks a lot though but if someone hadn't got the personality to back it up its a waste of time,I do think being good looking gets you further and excuses are made for bad behaviour for some reason,if an ugly person was doing what some of those are doing in the house they'de be labelled as all sorts.
