I'm kinda envious that we don't have a polar vortex here, but I know it would bring hardship to a lot of people, so I suppose it's best we don;t.

If you look to the right the waterfall itself looks frozen.

Water is still flowing though I presume? If not then that is pretty damn strong and quite scary
Natalie.

Yes water is still flowing but at a much reduced rate. It inspires thoughts of slowing age, by slowing metabolism. Maybe if people could slow their metabolism, by sleeping perhaps, they could slow their aging process.
Beauty sleep.
Its amazing and scary at the same time, I wias watching some stuff about the polar vortex earlier and it's so cold that people are being warned against going out because their skin could freeze.
That would freak me right out, some real day after tomorrow type stuff.

We usually get a watered-down version of USA weather a couple of weeks later, so I hope everyone's got their thermals ready.

I think human beings in cold climes should hibernate or migrate to warmer climes.

It's so much easier to warm up than it is to cool down. And I bought a new hat today I'm dying to wear...

I think the cold and the rain and the constant cloud cover will eventuall drive all but the most hardy to live in the sun, be it the Med, Africa, or America.

Yeah it's moving over here but the temps rising so just means more rain for us..

Rain is better than snow and freezing temperatures.
Rain is better than snow and freezing temperatures.
I like the snow and ice

This is the thing. The thing!
Cold weather causes illnesses and deaths. It's a statistical fact.

Yeah I should have said in moderation although where I live if it snows it's normally pretty heavy/deep anyway.

Lower temperatures have effects on our health. We become more prone to heart attacks, and strokes, and lots of other ailments. Just that drop in temperature in winter brings about illness and death.

The weather has been very changeable. When I was 11 or 12, I got sunstroke delivering junk mail up and down my street. That was 1976.
I have never seen a better summer. Nothing remotely as good.
We don't get summers any more. Maybe a small portion of England, the South East, does, but the rest of us in the British Isles, do not.
I live in Ireland, in the British Isles. I don't find the name objectionable, because it's a Roman Nomenclature. Brittania, is a Roman Name.
