..they're beautiful counties, especially Devon but that's probably because I've been there more...my OH works in Devon and I think that maybe eventually we will move there...

So much Zee, nicest beaches of the UK by a long, long, long distance. Nice countryside, the moors, people, sky dives, surfing, festivals etc.

You'll be at uni, small will be good as you'll all be too drunk to care.

I remember when I lived in Totnes/Dartington for uni we often went to the river in summer and tied up rubber rings to the trees and just sat bobbing in them with beers, spliffs and tunes.

Looe and Polperro are nice places. Newquay seems to have a little more going on. Well it has all the times I've been there.

I've never been to either. I used to do quite a lot of work in Poole in Dorset. It was lovely down there.

I think I'd prefer lots of people & nightlife in the winter though.

Again, you'll be a hippy by then so you won't care, lol. But you do have Plymouth via train that you can hit at weekends for your big city weekends out.

I really don't know, I have visited all of them bar Exeter & Nottingham, which I will be visiting in March. I have no clue at all. D:

I've heard Nottingham Uni is a campus & is really nice though.

You will fall in love with Exeter and Falmouth, especially if the weather is good. Such a cool place to study.

Only 4,000 students though & there are more mature students there.

That is the biggest of your worries? :joker:

The social side of uni will be amazing no matter where you go, be it a city of the countryside, it's the course you need to look at because if you hate that you'll drop out of uni and there will be no social side.

I love Cornwall and Devon! Have had great holidays there. My sis in law has recently moved from Bude to Exeter so that will probably be our next place to visit :)

I find it a bit too quiet really... very nice counties to look at but apart from Exeter and Newquay it's all a bit dead. No major festivals, no major cities, too much dead space (or lovely manure-smelling countryside, depending on how you look at it) inbetween places.

And the demographics are a bit off too... most of the country seems to come here to die, which is a bit dreary, and as a result the local media and news is basically "oh well Mavis made a nice jam sponge today and then some war veterans wondered what on earth hoodies are for".

It is a really beautiful place aesthetically though... ignoring Torbay and its council estates and capital-of-europe-teenage-pregnancy-stats etc etc.

I think as a student there I had a different take on it as opposed to being brought up there.

I would be living on campus around other students, in a student town. If I choose too go there
