Without me realising it, I got a splodge of foam from my hair dying adventure on the carpet and now it looks like coal has been trod in :bawling:

Heeeeeeeeelp meeeeeee!!

I'm going to try scrubbing it with Vanish I think.

Is it a short pile carpet or can you cut it out. Also, I was told to try WD 40 on nail varnish and it took that out.

If it fails kate you can always cut a circle or square of spare carpet(hopes you got some) you have to be precise with this and then take out the marked piece and replace with the new.it works honestly but glue it as you'll end up hovering it up,lol

I can't do that Kaz, I live in rented accommodation, it's not my carpet. Apartment was part furnished and decorated.

Depends how old the carpet is ,where it is and how big the patch, but I don't think it would be too hard to age a small spot, a few kids on it will do the job.

My hairdresser told me that only two things really get hair dye out: more hair dye, and hair spray. I sprayed my shower curtains with hairspray when they were dotted with hair dye and then machine washed them and they were fine. Not sure it'd work so well on carpet... hope it works out, Kate.

My dad's office has this VAX machine for steam cleaning carpets and I swear it's never there, somebody's always got it at home to get some tough stain out of the carpet  I remember when I was much younger we had a cream carpet in the living room and somebody had an accident with the red wine when my parents had people over (think it was one of my parents who spilled it), never seen so many adults get into such a flap in my life

..yeah, I've heard about the hairspray one, I don't know what the science to it is though...

Is it permanent dye? If so, I don't think it will come out, as it'll have dyed the carpet fabrics... I'm not positive though. :/

Maybe you could dye the rest of the carpet the same colour
