It does seem barbaric. I don't know why they can't just put something into their drink to make them drowsy then off them. None of this "I am the Truth and the Life sayeth the Lord", no audience, none of the ceremony... just quick and... gone.

I don't want to pay for Brutal Murderers to live. put them in the chair, surely there has to be a drug that can basically calmly lull them into a deep slumber until they're dead right? Or Hell lock them in a Gas Chamber and force Carbon Monoxide into it, that's harmless right?

I'm sure the cost of any of these methods is pretty small compared to the cost of all the trials and appeals that each offender will have to go through, along with keeping them on death row for god knows how many years before they are finally killed

Put them in a room with the victim or victims family and let the victims kill him. If the victims don't want to kill him for whatever reason, then let him be in jail for life.

If someone raped and murdered my daughter, I'd want to be allowed to kill him myself in any way I wanted to.
