Yeah I would say some flour to thicken it
Has has been said you need flour and butter and maybe a pinch of grated nutmeg

I was going to suggest just grate it on if it is a pasta dish.
It is lush.

no cornflour, no flour absolutely nothing. I thought it would have been possible to literally mix cheese and milk and salt to make something eatable.

Cheese pasta is good, you can add anything.
Peas out of the freezer, onion, any bits of left overs.
Think we might have pasta for tea tomorrow now, yum.

Throw a bit of dirt in there. Thicken it up

Keep a bit of the pasta water back when you have drained it. Add a bit of milk to the pasta & a bit of the pasta water, stir then add all your cheese and stir until the cheese has melted.
