This week the remaining Celebrity Big Brother 2014 contestants will take a trip to the North Pole in new task.



To earn their shopping for the week ahead, today the Housemates must go on an exhausting journey to the North Pole.

To get there they will be travelling by husky sled.

But without any actual huskies available, half the Housemates must become sled dogs and pull the others who have become Explorers sitting in comfort in the husky sled.

However, things aren’t all too bad for the huskies as Big Brother has a surprise twist in store for them….

The task begins with Big Brother announcing that in order to earn their shopping they must reach the North Pole. To get there four of the Housemates must become huskies and pull the other five housemates on a sled.



The husky Housemates are given husky dog costumes, and the sled riders are provided with nice warm furry coats. They are told that the huskies will be at the beck and call of the Explorers and that it is up to them to decide when they want the huskies to pull the sled

Big Brother has transformed the garden into our version of the Arctic. The entire garden is covered in fake snow; Housemates will be pulling the sled around an area approximately the size of the grass circle.

Day 18: Task - Brain Freeze

Part two of today's task has put our Huskies to the tesk, and appropriately they're now totally zonked out on the sofas. But what's knackered them so thoroughly?

Earlier this afternoon, the four Huskies (plus Linda, because they can't be trusted) were brought into the ice cave - predictably enough, a cave made of ice - in which they found an ice table covered in shots of slush.

Their challenge, should they choose to accept it (which, obviously, they did) was to answer a series of trivia questions by drinking a number of slush shots that corresponds to each answer. So if, for example, the question was "How many legs does a polar bear have?" they would have to drink four shots of slush. Simple, right?

Day 18: Let sleeping dogs lie


The first rule of CBB is Expect The Unexpected. Sadly, our Huskies forgot all about this today. For the final stage of their Arctic task, the poor pups were told they would be spending the night in a kennel. This didn’t go down at all well. "This show has really gone to the dogs" said Lee. Well, he didn’t actually say it, but he was clearly thinking it.

In the House, the Explorers vowed not to eat in a show of solidarity to their pedigree chums. Well, for about two minutes anyway. As soon as the Huskies were out of sight, the Explorers tucked into their dinner, convincing themselves that BB would have something similarly grim in store for them tomorrow. All except Jim, who stuck to his promise and refused the dinner he’d cooked himself. What a guy.

Jim shouldn’t have worried. Big Brother had in fact prepared a night of all nights for the Huskies. They went through the kennel and into... a pub, The Mutt’s Nuts. No chickpea curry for them, no sir. Instead, they had old-fashioned pub grub and a good old pint to look forward to.

The Huskies then realised they had a big screen to spy on the House. Predictably enough, this went down very well indeed. Except when Dappy noticed that Jim had gone to bed without any tea. In turn, Dappy announced that he wouldn’t eat either, as a show of solidarity to Jim’s show of solidarity to him. Aww, we love a good bromance. That said, Dappy ordered the gammon, just in case.

So that’s where they are for the night. Dappy, Luisa, Casey, Lee and a barrel of beer – what could possibly go wrong?

Day 18: Arctic roles



As the song nearly goes, there’s no business like snowbusiness. But today’s task really pushed our HMs to the limit. The question is; how did they cope? Did they melt each others’ hearts or did Hell freeze over?

Well, things started off promisingly enough. The HMs were split into two groups – Dogs and Explorers - and given lovely outfits. And the first part of the task went smoothly enough, but if you skate on thin ice for long enough, eventually you’ll fall through.

Lee was first to crack, as the Brain Freeze, as you might suspect, froze his brain. Somehow he limped on, a touch grumpy but unharmed nevertheless.

The HMs then tried their hand at ice hole fishing and threw themselves into it with gusto. Dappy, in particular, thought this might take his love of angling to a whole new level. Casey also went for it, although she might not want to eat fish again for a while.

And then, of course, there was a twist. The Dogs – Lee, Casey, Dappy and Luisa - had been told they’d be spending the night in the doghouse. After all that hard work, they weren’t impressed, and Lee again showed signs of cracking. "This isn’t fair, Big Brother!" he cried, before threatening to go to bed immediately. It was, however, only about 6pm and he was quickly talked round.

He needn’t have worried. Big Brother had a lovely surprise in store – a pub! In there, they had a couple of pints and watched their fellow HMs back in the House. All nine then met up in the snow-covered garden, with the dogs under strict instructions not to give the game away. They managed this, just about. Luisa had smiled too much in Dappy’s opinion, but then he had yelled "Yes!" when instructed to go back in for their dinner, so nobody’s perfect.

After a smashing pub grub dinner, they had a quiz and a game of darts. Lovely stuff. They felt they’d earned their evening treat and we’d have to agree. Meanwhile, the explorers stayed in the House, hoping their friends were coping. Trust us, they were fine.

Day 18: It's the bees knees in The Mutt's Nuts



It's a dog's life for our kennel bound quartet - or so the Explorers have been led to believe. The huskies - Dappy, Luisa, Lee and Casey - have been laying it on thick, pretending to the Explorers that they're just about surviving in squalid conditions, when in fact they've been having a right hoot.

They've been quaffing champagne, gorging on a chocolate fondue and treated to the finest pub food you'll find in Borehamwood. And to top it all off, they've got a gigantic jar of pork scratchings - now that's what you call luxury.

Big Brother has also provided them with a karaoke machine for the dogs to howl their little hearts out – though from what we've heard so far, they sound more like strangled cats to us. We shouldn't single anyone out, but Luisa needs to be mentioned for her particularly high whine.

The good times may be rolling now, but will the Huskies manage to keep up the charade to avoid failing this week's shopping task? Stick with us to find out!

Big Brother has revealed a secret twist to this week’s shopping task.



To earn their shopping for the next seven days, the remaining celebrity contestants must go on an exhausting journey to the North Pole. To get there they will be travelling by husky sled.

But without any actual huskies available, half the Housemates must become sled dogs and pull the others who have become Explorers sitting in comfort in the husky sled.

Sam, Ollie, Jim, Linda and Liz have become the explorers leaving Lee, Casey, Luisa and Dappy have become huskies for the task.

The husky Housemates have been given husky dog costumes and must live in the kennel, and the sled riders were provided with nice warm furry coats and told they can live in the house.

But there’s a twist: The huskies’ kennel is actually a luxury PUB.



The four lucky husky housemates will actually be enjoying every minute they spend in there over the next two days with booze, games, music, bar snacks, meals and secret cameras and headphones to spy on the conversations of the other housemates in the main house.

Lee, Casey, Luisa and Dappy must not let the other housemates know that they are in fact enjoying their stay in the kennel and should instead make out that they are having to live in squalor and eat gruel.

This is the real task and if the four piece don’t let on to their secret then the whole house will win a luxury budget.

But if any of the explorers suspects anything it will mean another week on basic rations for the housemates.

Day 19: Task - A Dog's Breakfast

The mammoth shopping task (y'know, because it's big and cold) is well underway, and the Mutt's Nuts - the luxury pub in which the Huskies have been living in relative luxury - remains undiscovered by the Explorers. Remember: if the Explorers suss that the Huskies aren't living in an uncomfortable kennel, the house will fail the shopping task, and it'll be chickpeas for dinner again..

This morning, after the Explorers had been told that the Huskies faced a rubbish breakfast of mince in a dog bowl, Big Brother offered them the chance to win a full English breakfast for their furry pals. Linda volunteered, and was called to the Diary Room to find.. a bowl of dog food. Her task? Well, you can probably guess..

However, there was a cruel twist, as not only had the Huskies already been given a proper breakfast, but they were also watching the whole thing on a monitor. Their horrified faces as Linda tucked into her grim meal: priceless.

However, this morning's task ended on much more pleasant note, as the housemate's finally lapped the garden enough times to reach the North Pole. There was, of course, much rejoicing.

But that's not all - there's still more twists and turns to come. Stay tuned!

Watching from their kennel, the husky housemates were split over Jim’s actions.

Dappy joined in with the hunger strike, explaining: “Last time, me and LeeLee went to jail when I came in and shared my steak – I didn’t eat my steak. I shared it. I gave some to Jasmine, I gave some to Lee, I gave some to Jim, I put some in his mouth. It’s the principle, innit?

“You lot might disagree with me. I’m sorry, but if Jim hasn’t eaten, now we’ve seen that, I can’t eat.”

But Luisa claimed: “Jim isn’t doing it for solidarity. I don’t believe it for one second. Jim is doing it to play up to the cameras. I would bet money on that.

“I bet we’ll watch later and everyone will go to bed and Jim will get up and eat something without everyone saying.”

The Celebrity Big Brother housemates have been given the results of their latest shopping task.



Big Brother gathered the housemates to reveal that the huskies had not been staying in a kennel after all and instead had been enjoying delicious treats at The Mutt’s Nuts.

Not only that, but whether or not the group passed the task was solely down to the Huskies not getting discovered.

As the Huskies did not get rumbled by the Explorer’s they have successfully PASSED this week’s shopping task and will receive a luxury shopping budget.
