View Full Version : Linda has actually turned out to be a good housemate

I know people are saying that she's bringing a negative vibe to the series, but I don't see how she's MORE negative than Jim? They're both as bad as each other but you can't deny that these 2 were expected to be duds/fillers/bores etc and have ended up carrying quite a few episodes (whether that's a good or bad thing is a different question).

When I saw her name rumoured I knew of her but didn't really know who she was so I was just like FFS and assumed she'd be a bore. She's been impressive!

They are as bad as each other, but I don't think they were expected to be duds/fillers/bores; BB specifically casted them fully aware of their shared history and mutual dislike. They were hoping for fireworks but instead we've had a slow sizzle and it's building up as each day passes, which is even better. The difference between Linda and Jim's brands of negativity is that Linda just bitterly hates Jim whereas Jim seems to bitterly hate everyone

I dont think she has been good. I do think she needs to seek help regarding her obsession with jim.

Not a good housemate in my book, just a very bitter, selfish and totally miserable one, that's my polite description as to her too.

She's been awful and a drain on Jim who is a funny guy and her negativity has spoilt it for him. We've missed a lot of funny moments with Jim

She an amazing housemate, not 2 faced, says what she sees without worrying how shes coming across, wont back down to the house bully/martyr ,some people cannot take honesty, but its a trait I love in people

I guess if you don't like Jim she's been amazing...but she's just a one trick pony, her sole goal in life is to wind up a bloke who is trying to get his life in order.

That is just nasty, and quite insane.

Her game plan is to wind up Jim until he snaps. It's very nasty and malicious.

Not the case; for me, at least. I don't really like either of them.

Linda has been a good housemate, despite how negative she may come across as. She's had a lot of arguments with Jim, which is something more than Coleen did.

If Jim is evicted tomorrow, Linda's purpose will have been served on the show, she has nothing else to offer in terms of entertainment without Jim in there for her to obsess over. Jim and Luisa don't get on so if Linda left, Jim would still provide some entertainment.

I actually like both, but not to the point of fully supporting them. So to me, seeing Linda getting fustrated over Jim and Jim's funny comments towards her couldn't be funnier lol

Not going to happen Jims played a blinder,he went in there to make a few quid as hes nearly bankrupt, and to try to make people feel sorry for him over his arrest ,I say no smoke without fire, hes hung around the blokes ,never nominating anyone apart from women ,he must have bit the inside of his mouth so much its dripping in blood, pretending to be something hes not , Im not 18 I know Jims history and nice man he isnt, i tried to give him the benefit of the doubt when he first went in ,and for a time liked him until he went too far attacking a dead man ,now I kick myself for thinking he could have changed, hes just as vile as he always was

Oh I totally agree with you but if Jim went before Linda; Linda would have nothing left to offer the series. If Linda goes before Jim; Jim would still provide points for us to discuss here on the forum because he's generally grumpy and gets on everyone else's nerves and vice versa.

Its not going to happen Zee ,hes won ,not on merit IN MY OPINION but on pity with pushing his "poor me,I was wrongly arrested" and his asslicking of all the man ,and trying to turn everything to try to make Linda look the baddy and him the hero, some folk fall for this type of housemate every series, luckily Im not one of them

I think once Linda goes people are gonna lose interest in Jim. He'll probably be in the top 3 but the only reason he was so popular in the polls is because of the Linda/Jim saga.

He's also funny.

Yes he is but once Linda's gone he's not going to be harangued constantly so he's not going to be providing spontaneous humour as much. I think the initial high levels of support of Jim have come as a direct result of Linda's attempts to provoke him.

He also does spontaneous humour about such things as microphones, and ventriloquism.

 I know - my point is that once Linda's gone, Jim's not going to be attacked for breathing/speaking/existing so he's not going to continue gaining support because I think that most people voting for Jim are doing it because Linda's obsession with him is TV gold. When she's gone, he'll go from being hilariously uncaring in the face of a woman who cares far too much, to just being a bog standard grumpy old man in the BB house.

..I think that she has been a 'good' housemate for Jim in that I think some of his support has come from her relentless hatred of him which has been quite disturbing at times...I think without it though, it may have been a bit harder for him to win over some of the public opinion so although she is not a nice person, she has been quite key to this CBB in general, I think..I think if Jim hadn't been in the house though, she would have hardly had any airtime at all because it's all been about her hatred of someone...

..in terms of her emotional state of mind, I am a bit worried that this experience may be very damaging for her...

Wrongful arrests are quite common, Jim is right mud does stick unfortunately.

I think to be fair, Linda's hatred of Jim has contributed to his higher level of success in topping the votes although I still think he would have got strong support.

He has his intense dislike from Luisa too to contend with and that has also helped the ratings and his popularity in my opinion and it would seem his closeness now to Dappy is also winning people over too.

If Linda had gone out early, it may also have been that we saw much more of the funny side of him too.

Contrast that with Linda, who other than as to Jim, she seems to have no purpose whatsoever as a housemate, she is miserable even when he isn't around, all she can do is latch onto someone getting at someone else, such as Casey against Lee.
I think she has been one of the worst housemates I have ever seen on any BB series.

Other than her hatred of Jim and the winding up of him, which coming so continously from her is not really great to see now, I now groan when she starts, I really cannot think of a single entertaining thing she has inititiated or even done or for that matter said even.

She has been the worst housemate i've ever known, Jesus i know Jim is an arse at times but god dammit she needs help, she has this crazy obsession about Jim and all she does is kick up arguments even when she shouldn't be involved she just wants to, and it's getting annoying and i honestly believe it's affecting everyone and i want her out, yes Jim is bad but she is just snapping at everything now and it's getting to the point thats all she does is snap.

Agree with both of these. If you're that bitter for that long, it will ruin your life... but it'll make great television :pipe:

Linda's story on CBB

1. Entered the house moaning about Jim (even in her VT)
2. In the house - moaned about Jim at every given opportunity
3. Exit the house and no doubt moan about Jim on BOTS

That's it.

Hence her odds at winning are now 100/1 - the least favourite by miles.

Her greatest contribution to the show is to accidentally boost Jim's popularity by her constant negativity towards him.

I guess that's karma for you !

I disagree completely!! I can't bear to watch such an irrational, miserable, bitter old bag. She has been turning housemates against jim since the beginning, all of her ridiculous reactions and jumping down jims throat come only from hate, common sense and logic never come into it. I can't wait for her to find out that her treatment towards Jim has only made him more popular lol only herself to blame.
