Who was right in the Cherry Brandy argument?

Yep and it's not like it could just never be mentioned seeing as most of the liquors were still sitting on the tray so the others would have seen them

You're conveniently missing out the part where Ollie said they didn't have any alcohol at all before Jim even opened his mouth. Ollie lied and that put the onus on the others to go along with his lie but Jim didn't. Why does Jim saying something make everyone else look bad but Ollie telling a lie is therefore okay? Exactly right.

Jim was only saying it to make the huskies feel supported by the rest of the house by letting them know they didn't drink the brandy.

Jim was actually being kind to Linda by pretending she didn't drink it too ! (even though she did drink it!!)

I think they'd decided not to let the others know they'd been drinking, in case it made them feel worse, hence Ollie's fib. Linda then made him look bad because she told them they'd all been drinking wine. By the end of her rant she'd changed it to Jim drinking all the wine.

I cannot believe that anyone could possibly think Jim was responsible for this!

..he wasn't 'right' to bring up the cherry brandy as such in that there wasn't any need to mention it at all and even if he did do it to make himself look good as with the 'not eating if they can't..' thing, it was still nothing that was going to be a big deal until Linda made it a big deal because she can't bare the thought of Jim looking good or nice or anything positive in anyone's eyes...her hatred is eating her up from the inside and she sees nothing he does as anything other than a personal attack on her...

It has nothing to do with "obsessive stanning" it's just calling it like I see it. Linda hates Jim and believes that her hate of him can be justified because she really believes that everything he says is a dig at her... which means that it doesn't matter whether or not he is making comments aimed at her, she's always going to assume that everything he says is an attempt to undermine her. The only "obsessive" behaviour is Linda's, not anyone at home viewing.

Jim then added that they got cherry brandy's brought in but they didn't drink them,he never added but Linda did and in fact I hadn't realised that the others apart from Lnda hadn't drunk them either.

Things all left there would have been fine.

Then enter Linda who had to state firstly she had drank hers and then she chose to go on and try to make it out that Jim had only brought it up because he knew she hadn't.
