Joan Rivers is not one to mince words. The comedienne and ‘Fashion Police’ host took aim at a tiny target – North West, the 7-month-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Rivers reportedly referred to Kimye’s little girl as “ugly” during one of her stand-up gigs.
That’s really harsh, but something tells us the joke may have been taken out of context.
Rivers, 80, was doing her routine at the Saban Theater in L.A. on Jan. 17 when she went after little North. She revealed that the Kim and her daughter had visited the E! offices when Joan got a good look at the infant, according to Radar Online.
“That baby is ugly… I’ve never seen a six-month-old so desperately in need of a waxing,” Rivers said. Her joke is said to have elicited plenty of laughs from the audience.
However, there is a backstory that may apply. Kim posted a snap of her daughter last month and was immediately accused of waxing North’s baby brows, something she refuted, joking that she would wait until the baby was almost three before grooming her brows.
North did have impeccable brows with no errant hairs and nary a trace of a unibrow, which caused the babyscaping backlash. Perhaps the little angel is blessed, but the photo did lead to lots of questions about Kim’s beauty habits with her infant and jokes about North having better eyebrow game than most adults. Perhaps that was just grist for Joan Rivers’ joke mill?
