There’s news of the Oh Stroll On, Really? variety today as it’s been reported that the BBC in its infinite wisdom – or senile dotage, depending upon your opinion – is “desperate” to sign up Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell to represent Britain at this year’s Eurovision.
An Aunty Beeb insider said, “Geri seems a perfect fit for Eurovision…

“She’s up for a laugh and not afraid to camp things up.
“It’s now a case of whether she’s as up for it as the BBC is.”
To The Sun’s TV Biz, the telly source added, “If she wins, she would be hailed as a legend…
“But if she doesn’t score highly, it could be another embarrassing moment.”
This year’s Eurovision is taking place in Copenhagen on May 10, and if Geri does agree to warble for Britain, then it seems the BBC are also hoping that she’ll “dig out the Union flag dress she wore at the 1997 Brits.”
However, if Geri’s song for Eurovision is as dire as her recent track, Half of Me – with which she seriously underwhelmed audiences in Australia last year – then we have no hope of winning.
