If you had to pick one Sims expansion pack?

So I've been playing the Sims 3 for over a week now, and i'm pretty much addicted to it, and i want an expansion pack, well actually i want them all, but to buy them all would cost like 400 bucks, and that's not going to happen. so if you can recommend just one (or two), which expansion packs do you think are the best?

Which expansion pack if i could only get 1, would you recommend?

From the one's I have, I'd say Night Life (you get nightclubs, vampires & can become a celebrity etc)

I'm leaning towards University Life, or Ambitions right now.

(i forgot to say that i already have Seasons and Night Life, because they came bundled with the original Sims 3 that i bought.)

My friend just got University Life and said it's crap.

I though there was gonna be a sims 4 when's that coming out?

So far Sims 4 is only for PC., I have a mac :(

Also i notice a lot of people are still using Sims 2.. so i dunno about Sims 4, i'm gonna just enjoy sims 3, and wait for sims 4 to develop more before i even try it. i don't wanna be the guinea pig. i do love Sims 3 though.

I've only got Pets and Night Life and both are great.. This thread has made me want to get back into it now.
