So we all know that the entire back end of the Big Brother house was teared down at the end of Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack in 2008. Since then & after BB9, the house shape, layout and more predominantly, garden shape has become rather stagnant. Below is an interesting article I found from house designer Patrick Watson from back in 2008, and a comparison of two aerial pictures of the house - one from 2006 (BB7 and before the re-build) and one from BB12 (2011).

So the house is actually far smaller since they removed the back half (you can see it's alot shorter) - only replacing some of the space with modular steel boxes, which is also the reason why the garden has stayed the same shape. The sloped edge was cut back, giving less shape to the house, less room for a garden and less options for different layouts.
