I know sooo many people that actually claim to hate their mother in law that I sometimes think it's a bandwagon thing if I'm honest.

How do you get on with yours? I don't just mean mother or father in laws but even your siblings partners and vice versa etc.

From personal experience....my in laws on my partners side are lovely, kind, hard working people, after more than 15 years I have never had as much as a disagreement with my partners mum, she's an amazing person and has helped us out a lot of the years, she's just one of those people that is always nice to everyone and never has a bad word to say about anyone.

My sister in law on my side though (brothers gf) well that's a different story entirely.

Gavs mom died in a car crash when he was 13 so I never met her, I get on grand with his dad and I adore his sister, don't know his brother very well

I have 3 brothers, one is married and I get on fine with his wife mostly :umm2: I really like my other 2 brothers g/fs

I absolutely loved my mother-in-law.
More of a mother to me than my own ever was.
Father-in-law I could give or take, a truly eccentric fella.
I suppose I get on ok with all my inlaws really.

Well my older brother's wife's family are okay I think but my parents really don't like them and my brother doesn't speak to my parents anymore because of this whole big drama that I only really know a little bit about. Kind of sucks. My dad went to school with my sister in law's step dad and they used to be friendly but lost touch over the years so it's really weird for them; because my older brother is from my mum's first marriage and his wife's dad died, so my dad and his childhood friend are both step parents and their step kids have married... and then the two wives (my mum and my brother's mother in law) don't get on so they don't speak at all. Not sure if that's easy to follow or not

I love my hubbys parents, infact get on with most of the in laws, the only one I have crossed swords with is one of my brothers wives, she's very opinionated and we clash sometimes, but we don't hate each other(I hope)

 I'll rewrite using code letters (not a very good code, mind... pmsl)

K - my older brother
Aa - his wife
S - my mum
Mi - my dad
Mo - the wife's mother
Al - the wife's step father

Aa's family are okay I think but my parents really don't like them and K doesn't speak to my parents anymore because of this whole big drama that I only really know a little bit about. Kind of sucks.

Mi went to school with Al and they used to be friendly but lost touch over the years so it's really weird for them; because K is from S's first marriage and Aa's dad died, so Mi is step dad to K and his childhood friend, Al, is step dad to Aa... and then the two wives (S and Mo) don't get on so they don't speak at all.
