And why?
Personally mine has to be A nightmare on Elm Street just for how original and baffling it was.
Yes most of them sucked but number 1,3 and 7 were pretty awesome. For some reason I still go back and watch the crappy ones even though I know they are terrible lol.

I've only seen a few F13 films so picked that... should get around to seeing the others, but I was always a pussy as a teenager (still am, really, can't stand watching zombie/torture stuff).

A nightmare on elm street.
Halloween, way more superior than... them.

I wouldn't say that Halloween is superior than a nightmare on elm street, Halloween was pretty much the same every sequel yet Freddy was far more imaginative.
Halloween 1 and 2 are good though.
I'm a massive horror fan so love them all but I will choose Friday the 13th in the poll, the remake of that was actually pretty good too compared to the **** they came up with for remaking Halloween and Nightmare on Elm street.
Of the original first films of each then Halloween wins hands down. In terms of iconic characters then Freddie Krueger wins. Friday the 13th just kept on getting sillier as it went on.

Yeah going by the original movies only I would agree with this actually.

Nightmare on Elm Street - I enjoy most of the series and like how they try and differ the films. 4 and 5 might not be popular but I actually really like them and think five is hugely under-rated.
Friday the 13th - Problem with the series is that it is too repetitive and the same thing happens in every film of the series. They tried to go different in some; 7 has that girl with telepathic powers and 10 was set in space but still not amazing. Part 2 and Jason Goes to Hell are the best in the series in my view.
Halloween - Better than Friday the 13th, but like Friday the films are again repetitive. 3 had nothing to do with the series, and dont get me started with the one with tara banks. Plus Rob Zombies remakes were terrible, but I did like the Part 4 and 5 with Danielle Harris

I agree Nightmare 5 is underrated people fail to see how dark it is, love the whole gothic theme as well.
And omg yeah to Halloween with Tyra Banks, I think it was Halloween Resurrection? Halloween does Big Brother lol fail.

All three are pretty level as a franchise I'd say, all flawless originals with acceptable sequels, until it just got silly and ridiculous.
Nightmare on Elm Street is my favourite though, simply because Freddy >>>>>

Nightmare on Elm Street because it's the most surreal of the choices. Hellraiser is better though.

Friday the 13th for me, closely followed by Nighmare on Elm Street.
Halloween is my least favourite of those 3.

Going on the original films alone,
Friday the 13th (it being one of the first horror films I ever watched- and quite vividly remember laying in bed thinking a knife would come through my throat)>>Nightmare on Elm Street- Again being one of the first horrors I watched> then Halloween.
All classics imo though. They all have something special about them.

My order is the same as yours. :clap1:
And I agree with you about NOES. I find it highly overrated tbh and whilst I enjoy the original and some of the sequels, I've never really cared much for the series. I'd put the Texas Chainsaw and Scream franchises way above Nightmare.
