Dancing On Ice
Homeland
Fairly Odd Parents (I still enjoy the earlier episodes though)
Tbh there's more but they are the shows that I've felt have been affected for the worst all because they've dragged on for too long and should've ended while they was still strong, especially TBBT which is so **** nowadays.
And I'm also into more risky stuff at the minute so most of the time I'm watching Anime as it doesn't shove too much romance down my face without no story.

It's lost ratings in the UK, and barely kept up with Merlin in America, that's not exactly a ratings giant.
Steven Moffat with his poor casting and bad/childish stories aren't helping it either imo.

A very minor drop if any. I dont think a show like Doctor can ever lose its appeal. It reinvents itself. The 50th alone shows it appeal.

Steven Moffat with his poor casting? What are you talking about? The stories aren't bad if you compare them to the RTD days.
And the same Steven Moffat and his poor casting and rubbish stories helped take Doctor Who global. A feat RTD never achieved.
Dr Who is awful.

To be fair, America's an absolutely enormous country (especially in comparison to the UK), so its figures don't reflect what we get. And also there's been a general decline in viewership all over terrestrial television due to changing trends in catch-up, multichannels and all that.
Marsh.
13-02-2014, 02:12 PM
Uh, Doctor Who was getting big in America during the RTD and David Tennant days.
Steven Moffat and Matt Smith took the show on and relished in its growing popularity but it wasn't them that got that ball rolling.

Doctor Who has always been a bit global though?:conf: And it's not a ratings giant in other countries it just does enough to get by, but Doctor Who could be a ratings hit in America and not lost 2 to 3 million viewers in the UK if Doctor Who actually grew up and actually not make it look like that a kids Sci Fi show is the only thing that the UK can make.

It's the way our media has brainwashed people into thinking that it's a ratings giant in America for us though when Merlin and Downton Abbey (especially Downton Abbey) rate higher in America yet our media doesn't/didn't push for them at all.
Glenn.

You realise its a family show though right? And it hasn't always been a global hit. It's only recently gone global. In the context of the thread, it hadn't lost its appeal, it's going the complete opposite.

It's our only Sci-Fi show around it should be more mature than it is, and also it behaves far more like something out of CBBC than it does anything like Pirates Of The Caribbean.
And you've took this thread too literal, it only means what shows have lost appeal for you, but as I've already said earlier Doctor Who is losing appeal as it's not the ratings giant it once was.
I've always thought of Dr Who as a "kids/teenage" show :umm2:

It's primarily a show for a kids/family audience. That's what it is, always has been and always will be.
You're asking for a completely different show. It was never meant to be a show that takes itself too seriously and aimed at a purely adult audience, it's Saturday teatime entertainment.
You realise its a family show though right? And it hasn't always been a global hit. It's only recently gone global. In the context of the thread, it hadn't lost its appeal, it's going the complete opposite.
It's always been shown around the world, it's not only recently gone global. Even then it's not some kind of huge hit, it's popular but nothing extraordinary.
Marsh.

:conf: What are you talking about? Since it returned in 2005 it's mostly been around the 6-8 million mark. It's still no different now.
The last episode at Christmas recorded over 11 million viewers. The 50th anniversary got around 12 million. So where is this loss you speak of?

Actually away from the specials taking away recordings Matt Smith/Steven Moffat's Doctor Who has sometimes pulled in 5.5 million viewers, imo that's a drop especially considering the other two Doctors pulled in 7 to 8 million viewers.

Well not big fan of this thread, So many of my fav shows been listed lol
Leave Hollyoaks alone, I love the fact that things happen in each episode, (There maybe over the the top) and its' the only fast movie soap at the moment
unlike the other soaps this week, more thing happen in Oaks in first two days, then corrie and EE happen all week put together!
But I do Agree with How I met your mother, should have ended before season 5!
I still watched it now and again!
Not sure about Doctor who when David was on it, watch first scenes of Mat one, I just could not used to being the doctor!
Might get back into, with Doctor, I did miss two series!
I Can't actually think of show, that would to axed, if this posted 2 years ago, I would have said Hollyoaks :joker:
The Black and White Minstrel show
I'd like to add Lost onto my list post season 2
..definately the Vampire Diaries..(if it's still on..)..it got quite bland for me quite a few seasons ago and it was one of my favourite TV shows...
