So many, I don't really have many favourites, tbh I like most
Frankie Boyle, Michael McIntyre, Jimmy Carr, Tim Minchin...but then I also like people that aren't necessarily stand-up comedians or have other platforms of comedy, so Ricky Gervais, Charlie Brooker, David Mitchell etc

More of a comedic actress than a comedian, but the fat chick from Bridesmaids, Mellissa McCarthy, cracks me up every time i've seen her. her last one "the Heat", I haven't laughed that much since I was a teenager. She's the female Chris Farley.

LIn terms of pure genius. Caroline Aherne has to be right up there.
She changed the landscape twice in the nineties. First with Mrs Merton and then with The Royle family.
She finished the old style of comedy when she had Bernard Manning as a guest on Mrs Merton and destroyed him. She then changed television as a whole with the Royle family. Before that the sitcom was filmed in front of a studio audience. She created reality tv as the way forward. She made the reality style of tv popular.
She was a genuis who didn't even realise how great she was It was just natural.

I stopped listening to stand up many years ago aside from Stuart Francis ( fabulous one liner comedian) and Tom Stade .
Then after seeing those two Washington clips i was hooked on Nate Bargatze !!

I grew up listening to Billy Connolly. I think he's possibly the funniest man in the world.
Billy Connelly is just a naturally funny guy, many have to work at it and you can tell. I loved the fact that he and Gerry Rafferty started up in a band together before going their separate ways
