Convention videos and Discolady

I had a lovely long chat with Discolady on the phone the other night.

The bad news is that she has been really quite poorly over Christmas and New Year.


She asked me to tell you that she hasn't forgotten the video of our November exploits and will be getting on with making copies as soon as she feels well enough.


The good news is that she is slowly and surely getting better now.

Those of us who were lucky enough to attend the knees up know how hard Discolady worked along with Janette to organise a great party.

She 'done us proud'!

So let's all wish her a speedy recovery!

As much as I am sure all of us convention goers are looking forward to getting our copies of the video, it is much more important that discolady gets herself well.

MANY THANKS DISCOLADY

My tape arrived safe & sound this morning. I must admit to leaving it, unopened, all day in fear & trepidation!!

I finally took my courage in both hands & watched it this evening. It brought back so many happy memories - not only of meeting everyone but also of the wonderful karaoke renditions of some classic tunes!!

Special karaoke mention must go to Tom (what a star!) - he sang so beautifully but honourable mentions to ROB, Peachy and Kaz & Janette for their fine renditions. Mustn't forget Sticks' stirling version of 'You'll never walk alone' - had us all waving our arms to & fro - fab!!

Thanks again Discolady - a lovely thing to keep.

My video arrived this morning too.

I kept looking at it thinking shall I watch today or keep it for a treat. Well of course I couldnt resist.

What memories it brought back and the performances - well had to be seen to be believed.

Special mention to the rendition of Summer Nights (what talent yet to be discovered), My Guy (wonder who they were talking about), Waterloo (ABBA would have nothing to worry about), Hello (wonderful) plus many many more.

Though I must admit the video did miss out on the singing in the hotel bar much much later on by Manchester United fans etc. Will say no more.

All I can say what a group of normal, completely sensible people we really are and as one of the last songs said we are "Simply The Best":thumbs::thumbs:
