The Hijacked Plane

You are on a plane containing 150 people, currently flying over barren desert. Hijackers take over, killing the pilot and co-pilot, and sealing themselves in the cockpit. There is no way for you to open the door, but you could damage the ventilation system causing poisonous fumes to fill the cockpit. If you do this the hijackers will die, but with no-one able to enter the cockpit and fly the plane, it will crash in the desert killing everyone on board. If you do nothing, the hijackers might land the plane safely, or they might crash it into a civilian target killing even more people.

What should you do?

Would probably damage the ventilation system to deal with the hijackers then hope for a softish landing tbh.

Probably better to wait it out. At the moment there are 2 chances you could die (you forcing it down, or the hijackers going 9/11 on our asses), and one chance to live (they don't go 9/11 on our asses), so why bring on certain death?

I am with Josy, damage the ventilation, prepare for the crash and hope for the best, it has been amazing some of the things people have managed to walk away from that could have meant certain death.

I wouldn't damage the ventilation system. I don't have enough info on the situation. And to start killing hijackers and passengers, seems pretty rash at this stage.
