Update 5:20pm EST: Well, that was fast. After our story ran, BleedingCool followed-up with a name to the mystery game: Batman: Arkham Knight. The news and rumor site gave the name definitively, and has been right several times in the past about what's coming on the following day's DC: All Access show.

Batman: Arkham Knight was one of the domain names registered last year, according to GameInformer's list, alongside Arkham Origins. A quick check of the domain on WhoIs.com shows that it was registered by the same agency as the past titles in the series, and that they updated the domain on December 10, 2013.

More on Arkham Knight is expected tomorrow when the new episode goes live.

Original Story: Last week, Kotaku ran a story that Gamestops across the country have been receiving new Batman banners, with a request to not put them up until this week. My local Gamestop confirmed they had the banner, too, with no specific game name attached to the shipping records.

DC Entertainment is teasing that this week's DC: All Access, their proprietary youtube show for announcements and interviews, is going to be all-games, with a focus on the upcoming Infinite Crisis as well as a "special announcement." While DC Comics and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have never officially announced a new game in the Batman: Arkham series, we do know one is coming. Voice actor Kevin Conroy let as much slip last year, when he said he was recording Batman VO for another game, while he was not voicing Origins, 2013's installment in the franchise. In January 2013, GameInformer also found a large list of domain names registered by WBIE, implying a long possible future for the series.

It makes sense, then, that the game would be announced tomorrow. But will it be another prequel? A sequel? By WB Montreal? By Rocksteady? And what will it be called? That we don't know, but Batman: Arkham fans should probably pay attention to that video tomorrow morning.

Batman's voice actor from the first two games accidentally confirmed there was already a new one being made when Arkham Origins was first revealed. I can't wait to hear more about it, I enjoyed AO but it was obviously a stop gap game.

Last Batman game for Rocksteady, will work on something totally new next.
There will be a brand new villain, something made by Rocksteady that they say will be the ultimate test for Batman
Batmobile can be called at any moment with a button.
The city streets are much wider to allow for the batmobile. You will rocket jump off ramps and do all sorts of cool maneuvers.
You can eject jump out of the batmobile right into a super fast glide straight through the glass of a building to knock out enemies. They said glass breaking will be a big new thing.
New moves include being able to use all your gadgets during flight. You now have a counter throw where you counter a guy and throw him into another guy. A new quick ground takedown. A quick backflip where you then throw a batarang in an enemies face.
For the predator sections you can now chain takedowns of up to four enemies. For instance pop out of a grate and take one guy, jump to the next and so on. You can now enter grates from a distance, he will automatically do a jump or roll to enter them.
Riddler challenges seem to be car based. The first one has you enter a sort of Riddler race track where you have to activate walls and ramps, when you activate one another closes so as you drive you have to be constantly turning on and off these ramps as you navigate the course.
Batmobile fires missles and stun guns. It destroys anything it touches so if you bump into cars the cars go flying. It's basically unstoppable.
Story is that after Joker's death all the criminals decided to work together and their plan comes together this night where they plan to kill batman. The article talks mostly about Scarecrow, he scattered bombs throughout Gotham.
Oracle will play a larger role, you get to visit her base and talk to her, tons of batman easter eggs included.
Kevin Conroy is Batman, all the previous voice actors are back.
Gothom City is 5 times bigger than AC. Split into 3 areas. NO LOAD TIMES at all, entering buildings is seemless.
They spend a bunch of time talking about how detailed the models are, one character has more polygons than the environment of Asylum.
Batman will start off with the old batsuit and upgrade at some point in the game.
It says it is running on their modified Unreal engine.

- All quickfire gadgets can now be used during flight.
- Combat tweaks (note: Not enough time to go over these in detail. for example, you can throw by tilting left towards the opponent and hitting counter)
- did I mention the screenshots are gorgeous?
- Arkham Knight isn't just the name of the game.. it's also the name of the [new] villain.
- Fear Takedowns. ie, burst out of grate, action slows down allowing you to target another goon for another attack and so on. Can be used on groups up to 3 as long as they're close enough together and no one has already spotted Batman.
- They seem to try to tackle the old school Arkham issue of "open door - black screen loading"
- The game looks gorgeous. Huge.
-"This is a single-player game. There is no multiplayer."
- You can launch into a fast glide from the Batmobile just like the trailer.

-No more pre-rendered cinematics everything is done in engine
-The larger riots can have up to 50 people flipping cars and looting stores.

Characters
-Things such as Gordon's trench coat and Batman's cape now have Apex cloth physics. They react realistically to changes in wind and movement
-When it rains rains bead of water run down Batman's suit tracing every groove
-The wrinkles on Gordon's face crinkle as he talks

The City
-The city is as detailed as ever with realistic moving clouds with the moon shining through
-Halloween characters and balloons litter the street adding a creepy vibe
-Neon signs of the various shops shine brightly around the city
-The skyline has helicopters and blimps flying through it
-Steam puffs out of the sewers in a realistic way

You can now use the linear launcher on anything to create ziplines. This is done in mid flight so you can quickly land where you want.
All enemies now have the ability to grapple Batman, not just big guys.
Roads wont have many vehicles, just some thug cars and cop cruisers
There can be enemy riots, up to 50 enemies on screen at once.
More Riddler type challenges than just racing.

The news comes to use straight from WonderCon, after the DC All Access Panel showed the trailer for the game. They revealed to the audience that the game has now been pushed to a 2015 release date.

Currently playing through Origins for the first time. It's alright. Troy Baker does an excellent job with the Joker voice in it though. I'll probably pick this up in a few months as i have a massive list of games i have to get through.

I'm one one the three people in the world successfully playing this on PC :joker:. Basically it's been pulled from sale because people even with very high end computers are finding it unplayable due to stuttering and frame rate drops. They outsourced the PC code to a company that has basically badly messed up.

With motion blur off (which I dislike anyway) it works fine for me though :shrug:.

Anyway, yes I'm mostly enjoying it, my only real concern is that it leans a little too heavily on the batmobile. It's fun enough to use for getting around and the riddler challenges are interesting but I'd prefer more hand-to-hand battles and levels... the car combat is actually pretty boring and there's a boatload of it.

I just don't like the batmobile in general. The control is so sloppy. I'm used to t now but for the first hour or so I was ending up in the sea a lot.

I just did my first Riddler racecourse and oh wow this is going to be a chore... :laugh:

Still haven't really done much since the PS4 froze last night as I was about to encounter Ivy, but it all looks quite nice. Controls are taking some getting used to (ie where all the upgrades/objectives/factfiles etc are) in the carry-over from the PS3. But ultimately I couldn't care less about the Batmobile. Pretty redundant when the grapple is so easy.

I'm doing other side challenges too. I've got about 4 of the main bad guys beat. I'm going to try and complete this in under a week. That's how long it took me to complete city.

I quite like the fact that big spoiler ahead but nothing to do with main story just an Easter egg I suppose.
