25 years of the Internet - do you thank Tim Berners-Lee ? 12.03.14

happy birthday is my mission
as i have gratitude to Tim
with out the net i have no vision
life would be so grim.
everything is at your fingers
music information wikipedia
not forgetting on-line dating with "mingers"
its how to pass round "nasty's" like chlamydia.
local news is a click
buying and selling is easy
of-course there is vile that is sick
but some stuff is as adorable and cheesy.
playing games to pass time
your brain will stimulate
this is where i post every rhyme
confusion to forums is my educate.
its fantastic
price has made it branch and tree
it has more bounce then elastic
and i personally want to thank Tim Berners-Lee.

( as you can see from the date - the Internet or the www. better known as, is 25 years old today. all i have to say to this great man is - i can not thank you enough and i hope my poem makes Tim smile. i have tried my hardest to get this to Tim but as i am not that to web-wise i hope it does get to him as this is my priority. now you ? what do you think of the Internet ? is it a good or bad thing ? tell Tim !!!!!!! i mean tell me and replies don't have to rhyme. if you wanted to read more about this story you can here. http://mybroadband.co.za/news/internet/98308-25-years-of-the-world-wide-web.html )

The Internet is the greatest invention of all-time
It doesn't even have to rhyme.

Great guy, and agree with his thoughts about internet neutrality and wanting a set bill of rights in regards to the internet and being against censorship, will be ignored by the government though.

It is the World Wide Web that is 25 years old. The Internet was around for longer.

World wide web, not the internet.

He didn't invent the internet, the US Army did.

Saying he invented the internet is like saying the person who created a road map invented the highways.

I hate him. The internet is the biggest cause of my procrastination.

if you did your uni work FIRST then you'd have plenty of time left over for procrastination :)

..after all of your procrastination, though..just think how great your uni work is going to be when you do it...it will all pay off for you then.....

But then that wouldn't be procrastination.

good point, so maybe do MOST of your uni work, and just leave the easy bits for last, then you can do them after you're done with the procrastination?

oh **** it, yur a uni student, it's supposed to be hard, stop trying to make me feel bad for you ! :nono:

But you have to, I can't just feel sorry for myself.

Over the last 10 years or so since I had the Internet installed it has made me a lot lazier and approximately 5 stone heavier. I used to have to go to Asda for my grocery shopping for example, which would probably be a 3 hour job and would be extremely good exercise. Now I just click a button on tesco.com and someone brings it to me. I've also become a veritable recluse.

Its undoubtedly one of the greatest inventions in the history of mankind and has made a lot of things very easy, but for me, the negatives outweigh the positives.

Also worth noting that without it, people like Zuckerburg and Jeff Bezos would probably be working in Mcdonalds and now they are billionaires.

You need a Screen over your private treadmill
and sweat cleanable keyboard.
Then that you get back to be fit.
