I wonder how you would react if some truculent woman bit you and told you she had infected you with HIV?

I think perhaps the policeman needs some Boxing lessons........I mean c'mon 3 punches needed to pacify a woman........!!! clearly the policeman is not using the shoulder to good enough effect.
Will struggle to live this down at the station...........

ive seen these things many times. they do it all the time and abuse their power. but 99/100 get away with it. whats worst is they charge the person they beat up most of the time.

tbf.......she was trying to bite him and she told him she was HIV positive.. so I guess a few punches under those circumstances are justified

I blame the woman for shoplifting and then trying to potentially kill the policeman. Its her fault.

There were witnesses, if all that about aids were true then wouldn't that have come out?
I can't see anywhere on that CCTV footage him being bitten.

there seems to be a new 'fad' that's very FUQDAPOLICE atm... I think the police do a fantastic job and they have to deal with incidents that we can't even imagine.

Totally, it's all political I feel... they are trying to justify cuts and privatisation by persuading the public they're inefficient or corrupt, same with the NHS.

Not just cuts - they're most likely trying to edge the public mindset towards supporting full privatisation of everything, including the police. To sell these services off to whoever will carry them out for the least money. Scary, really.

Totally agree. Like hell would I allow someone to bite me when they say they are HIV positive (well..bite me even not, but this is worth)
I would do everything in my power to knock the bitch clean out tbh

I can't see the clip... I'm hoping the woman in question is Katie Hopkins in which case I won't have a problem with it.
Kate!

Too right! Exactly the same here. Instincts and adrenaline would take over, it's a terrible threat to be faced with. D:
If anyone deliberately infected another person with HIV they should be slapped with an attempted murder charge and the key thrown away.
There's pretty much no chance of contracting HIV by being bitten apparently though even if she was being serious

This is a bit off topic but if you sleep with someone unprotected and don't tell them you have HIV can it be classed as attempted murder? I was watching an American doc earlier and that was the case but don't know about here

This.
There are worse cases towards people who didn't warrant it tbh.
Also the **** the police mentality is nothing new and hardly surprising.

Feel sorry for your everyday policeman, because that's a hard job when it's not their fault/they're just making a living
The guys above them on the other hand..

It's not really possible, though I'm sure it would naturally prompt a strong response in most people. Whilst he has his uniform, however, he's duty bound to protect and serve or whatever it is they've signed up to be paid for... not mash people who are lashing out. I think it qualifies as excessive force.
I can agree that it's a horrible job, but I'm not sure that really justifies this either.
