Ofc Cheryl Cole has been accepted as the new judging panel...
Who will join them?
Pete.

Cheryl Cole has reportedly created a new 'mixed category' concept where each judge mentors an act from each category meaning that:-
A judge would get
-A Boy
-A Girl
-A Group
-An Over 25

not sure how I feel about that, suppose it's a change, if they are going to do that then why not all judges have that selection?

No no no no no, the categories format is one of my favourite parts of the show so don't mess with it please
Also if they were to do this then the categories would surely have to be named 'Simon's team' etc...The Voice much?
Marsh.
15-03-2014, 01:29 PM
I think it's good that they get one each. Usually one or two of the categories are automatically a disadvantage so getting one act from each is quite fair.
Not liking all this "Me and Cheryl" "Cheryl created..." bollocks. Are they licking her arse and giving her a producer credit to lure her back?
Pete.

they probably gave her 'producer style' role to make the job sound more appealing but she probably hasn't come up with this idea but her name has been added to it to make it seem that way.

How will Judges houses work if they have to choose on from each category?
How will Judges houses work if they have to choose on from each category?
There'll probably be some dramatic lottery style thing where all the acts are lined up on stage after they've been whittled down to the stage where they'd normally then go to the judges' houses... but I don't really think the judges' houses thing can work now, because how can the judge pick the best of the bunch of they've been given a random number of acts and they have to have one of each type? Like say Simon gets given the two best groups but can only pick one, but Cheryl gets the worst two groups and has to pick one... so that just doesn't work. Wonder how they'll do it?
Pete.

it'll probably the group judging decision at boot camp and then the selected 4 pick their favoured mentor (like the voice) - it seems fair but stolen at the same time :/

15-03-2014, 05:54 PM
What's that?
Where they have 6 spots for judge's houses and decide whether to offer an act one of the spots. If all 6 spaces are filled before all of the contestant's have performed then he needs to swap anyone he wants and take a spot away from someone else.
Was quite cruel instead of just selecting 6 after all have performed.
I suppose that's a bit like the Voice where they choose an act to fill up a limited amount of spaces before actually hearing everyone.

Aargh, I hope this mixed grouping thing is just a rumor. The categories make it more of a competition and is what distinguishes the show from others like The Voice.

15-03-2014, 09:12 PM
I actually really like this idea, it makes it fairer since nobody can complain about a certain judge being awarding the 'best' or 'worst' category but I don't see how judges houses will work.

LMFAO rapper Redfoo has been linked to The X Factor 2014 judging line up.
So far only Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell have been confirmed for the show, which will begin filming in the summer.
Louis Walsh is widely expected to take up a third spot leaving a big question mark over who will be the fourth judge.
While Olly Murs, Rita Ora and Robbie Williams have all been rumoured, all three are also apparently struggling to agree to a deal with hectic schedules.
According to The Sun newspaper, LMFAO’s Redfood is a “possible contender” for a seat on the judging panel after impressing on the Aussie version of the show recently.
A show source told the tabloid this morning: “Simon wanted to wait until Cheryl was 100 per cent confirmed first, so they could talk. Both of them like how edgy and cool Redfoo is. He makes great telly.”
Cheryl said earlier this week she wanted a “strong woman” beside her on the show, hitting back at reports suggested she wanted to be the only female judge.
“There are people I’d love to join the panel. Definitely a strong woman,” the 3 Words singer insisted. “I’m kind of hoping I don’t have to deal with three guys because otherwise I’ll have no hair — I’ll be pulling it out all the time!”
Pete.
16-03-2014, 10:30 AM
also Fergie (of Black Eyed Peas fame) is rumoured to be the 'strong female' next to cheryl - makes sense as cheryl toured with BEP In 2010
Pete.
16-03-2014, 10:38 AM
Despite Cheryl Cole's insistence that he won't be on the panel Louis Walsh is adamant that he will be returning along with Sharon Osbourne.
Also Sinitta has been fiercely rumoured to be part of panel this year along with Olly Murs and Shayne Ward for some reason

Belfast Telegraph sheds light on judging panel
Simon Cowell will return in his role as head judge after The X Factor USA was not renewed this year.
Cheryl is believed to have negotiated a veto for anyone she didn't fancy sitting next to, but is said to be friends with Fergie and shares a close mate in the American star's bandmate, Will.i.am.
Meanwhile, Louis Walsh has apparently secured his usual spot by winning a bet with Simon - the music mogul dared his Irish pal to dance on stage with a group of leprechauns if he wanted his job back, according to the Daily Star.
Louis proved how much he wanted to be back on the show by getting up on stage at the preview of West End X Factor musical I Can't Sing! and dancing with the character based on him and a group of leprechauns, to a standing ovation from the audience.
Could the panel be: Simon, Cheryl, Fergie, Louis?

According to reports Cheryl has been given power to decide who is going to sit next to her
The newspaper reports that Cheryl is backing songwriters Amanda Ghost – famous for the hits of everyone from Beyonce to James Blunt – and Sia Furler – of Titanium fame, who has also written tracks for the likes of Katy Perry and Rihanna.
A range of names have been linked to the judging line up already with Black Eyed Peas star Fergie, former X Factor USA judge Demi Lovato and Sharon Osbourne all reportedly in talks with show bosses.
Are we assuming Louis is a given?
Jack.
19-03-2014, 07:04 PM
It makes me laugh that some of this sites are saying Louis has his job this year because Simon dared him and he did the dared. It's not Simon that makes the final decision it's the producers

What I said all along has come true , Nicole has been axed due to Cheryl's arrival
Cheryl has been announced as a new judge this year while Simon confirmed Nicole’s exit in a simple tweet.
The music mogul wrote online: “Thank you Nicole for everything.”
According to new! magazine this week, Cheryl eventually signed her deal to make a comeback almost as soon as Nicole’s exit was confirmed, with insiders claiming Cheryl would only agree with Nicole quit.
The pair had worked together on the USA version of the show in 2011 but didn’t exactly get along with Cheryl branding her first meeting with Nicole “awkward” and “embarrassing”.
“The first time I met Nicole was when she was performing on The X Factor in London.” Cheryl wrote in her autobiography. “‘Oh my God, Cheryl! You’re just as pretty in real life! I heard your song on the radio!’ she had gushed. It was really embarrassing.
“Then she started singing ‘Promise This’ to me, and I swear to God the woman sang the whole song, to my face. It was just so awkward.”
And things were made worse when Cheryl went on to be axed from the show only to be replaced by Nicole on the panel just two audition shows into filming.
Shame

If these rumours are true I can't see Cheryl staying for long, they're giving her all this power in hopes that they'll get the ratings they used to get in her first tenure as a judge and it's not going to work because no one cares about her anymore. Unless ratings improve I can see her being axed in favour of a new up and comer who is easier to work with.

Sharon Osbourne definitely won’t be returning to The X Factor in 2014, it’s reported, despite persistent rumours that she’s thinking of giving it another go.
While it was airing, Sharon confirmed that she had only rejoined for one more series as a last hurrah – but although she has officially left the show, bookies have slashed odds on her doing a u-turn.
The Sun quotes Mrs O as saying: “I cannot go there… I can’t.”
Meanwhile, the insider commented: “Last year was seen as Sharon’s last hurrah. She isn’t in consideration for this year’s show.”
Sharon has backed Cole’s return, gushing: “Cheryl is fantastic — she’ll be great for the show. She is always great back with Simon. She will do a great job.”

The twerking sensation and occasional popstar had been linked with a judging role on the show - which will see both Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole return to the panel after a three-year absence - but her representative has now nipped those rumours firmly in the bud.
A representative for Miley told The Mirror: "Simon has more chance of getting Elvis or Gandhi as a judge.”

And simon has confirmed other things ...
Meanwhile at the opening of the 'X Factor' musical 'I Can't Sing' on Wednesday night, Simon was determined to put other rumours about the show to bed, namely that popstar Rihanna was going to be lucky enough to spend two months of her life sitting next to Louis Walsh.
Although the Bajan star was reported to be in the running for a seat at the judging panel, Simon told Capital: "I never spoke to her, I've seen the papers, I never spoke to her. I don't think she'd be available because of her commitments this year."

Well the auditions for X factor are June and start of July. So when Bootcamp begins it will be the live shows of AGT. They have one live show a week don't they? If so bootcamp I done over two days i think. So I'm sure mel b could flight to the uk for two days and then flight back to the US.
Two days a week, Performances Mondays and Results Tuesdays. There's 4-5 weeks of Auditions in Late May thru June usually. Then a Vegas week (it's like a Bootcamp), then liveshows after that.
Stage Auditions are recording right now or are about to start, I think.

Tbh I don't think any of the papers have any idea who the fourth judge is. The fourth judge is going to be unknown black women that is a music producer/Manager
Meh she'd fulfill the requirements. Young and pretty enough to be pitted in the fashion stakes against Cheryl but she's also mates with Cheryl so there wouldn't be any animosity there. She's already been tried and tested on one of his other shows to see if she's any good at giving opinions, which she is, and it might even get her to go back into music either as a solo artist or with a reunited Mis-teeq who have been reportedly meeting up.

X Factor 2014 boss Simon Cowell has said he doesn’t want ‘celebrity judges’ to join him on the panel.
There are still two spots up for grabs on this year’s judging line up and Simon is after someone who can actually “do the job”.
He said previously of the mysterious new judges: “It would be someone who does this for a living — a manager, a songwriter. That’s my preference.”
So, Louis has not been confirmed and a songwriter is needed ... Sia?

Paloma Faith is the latest name linked to the X Factor 2014 judges.
With still two names to be confirmed alongside Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole, kooky singer Paloma is the latest in the spotlight.
The Can’t Rely On You hitmaker has previously appeared on the show and turned down a spot on The Voice UK line up in the past.
But X Factor bosses apparently reckon they can persuade her to join the ITV show.
“Paloma has held talks about the possibility of becoming a judge,” a source said today.
They told The Sun newspaper this morning: “She would balance nicely with Cheryl and is being talked about seriously, but no final decisions have been made.
“Simon wants to make sure the best judge is hired.”
Speaking to us last week, Simon dismissed pretty much every one of the current rumoured judges from Ellie Goulding to James Arthur.
But Alesha Dixon on the panel did seem more promising, with Simon saying of the current BGT judge: “Alesha I think she would be a great judge on the show"

Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears to replace Louis Walsh on The X Factor?
X Factor producers are allegedly lining up Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters to replace Louis Walsh on the ITV juggernaut’s judging panel.
Simon Cowell has made it clear that he wants Walsh back on the show for its eleventh season but producers are said to be plotting behind his back after noticing Shears on The Voice UK earlier this year.
The American singer was brought in as a guest mentor to Kylie Minogue prior to the battle rounds and X Factor chiefs – keep to revamp the show – were impressed with his efforts.
A source said: ‘ITV aren’t sure about Louis and think it may be time for a change.
‘Jake really impressed when he was a guest mentor on The Voice but Louis is very much Simon’s man, so we’ll have to wait and see.’
And Jake has made it pretty clear in the past that he’d jump at the chance to work alongside Cowell.
According to The Mirror, in 2010 he said: ‘I would be happy and very excited to appear on one of Simon Cowell’s shows.
‘I think I’d have a good time. I’d definitely be enthusiastic. I think it’s a really wonderful thing.’
An X Factor spokesman added to the newspaper: ‘Simon and Cheryl are the only confirmed judges. No decisions have been taken on the rest.’

Paloma Faith would be brilliant. But she said on Alan Carr "who am I to say who is good or not?". Mel B would be good. She is black and I am always a fan of the Spice Girls. I think Adele would be good. A British female artist who has sold millions. She's great in interviews too.
I would love more like a "rock chick" female as a 4th judge though so we don't have the same mundane pop/balad songs week in week out.
Overall from the rumours though Paloma would be my number 1.

Louis Walsh is said to be resuming his judging role on The X Factor after mogul Simon Cowell reportedly negotiated his return to the hit show with ITV bosses.
The genial Irishman was initially thought to be heading for the exit as show bosses sought to freshen the panel ahead of the series eleven launch later this year.
But ITV are believed to have taken a U turn and given the green light to his eleventh consecutive year on the hit talent show.
‘It is all sorted,’ Walsh told Colin Robertson of The Sun. ‘I am coming back. I just have to sign the contract.’

Joey Essex could be lining up alongside X Factor's Caroline Flack after auditioning for a presenter role.
The former TOWIE star has undertaken a screen test to be one of the presenters on ITV2 spin off show The Xtra Factor, according to The Sun.
Producers are said to be looking at different presenting options - including pairing a male presenter with a female star, or having a single female presenter - but may have concerns on how Joey, 23, would cope holding an hour-long show together.
It is rumoured that Matt Richardson will not be returning to the show.
Other potential replacements in the running include Radio 1 DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford and MTV host Laura Whitmore.

http://i1.cdnds.net/13/35/618x400/uktv-the-x-factor-2013-judges-4.jpg
"I knew I was doing the show but I just signed the deal and I'm very happy with it," he told Colm Hayes on Irish radio station 2FM. "At my age you have to keep working!"
Walsh also revealed that fellow judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole have put their much-publicised feud behind them.
"They will get on really well," he said. "I think they'll try to hog the limelight [and] it will be all about them.
"The falling out is long over and this'll give Cheryl a whole new career. She'll have a new record coming out and all."

Please no, I don't mind her but if we're going for ex Radio 1 DJs then it's Moyles or no one. I don't think she'd suit this show at all

Mel B is the fourth judge
Scary Spice will join Simon Cowell, 54, Cheryl Cole, 30 and Louis Walsh, 61, on the hit show’s judging panel – putting an end to months of speculation.
An announcement from X Factor bosses is expected early this week to confirm the latest big bucks signing.
The Daily Star Sunday exclusively revealed months ago how straight-talking singer Mel, 39, – full name Melanie Brown – was on the verge of joining the ITV talent show.
And we can now be the first to reveal it is a done deal.
Our X Factor source said: “Mel has been in talks to join the show for months.
“There have been a few hiccups along the way to do with money and other commitments, but it’s finally a done deal.
“Mel has signed up and is working out the logistics of where she will live and when she can fly in and out of the country.”
The former judge of X Factor Australia and America’s Got Talent has a home in the Hollywood Hills.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, 35, has been battling Mel for the coveted last spot on the TV singing contest.
But she had no hard feelings – and backed Mel to be a great judge.
She said: “Mel is feisty and will bring a bit of spice, no pun intended, to The X Factor.
"Cheryl is a proper girl’s girl and I’m sure they will be fine.
"I don’t think they will clash.”
