Tbf I think this measure isn't a bad idea, I also like the fact that it's not gonna be a routine thing either and that it will only be for really severe situations.

It's to use on political protesters that have been kettled by the police, react accordingly and are then deterred from ever speaking out again

Just a shame that the riots resolved absolutely nothing where the incident of the teen was concerned, just destroyed years of businesses and tore families apart... I still think it's disgusting how people took it upon themselves to do that to innocent people

No. Witness reports all stated he had his hands up but was shot. It was deemed an "execution" by one witness.

The riots were a case of opportunistic theft that has been encouraged by excessive consumerism. This is what happens when you teach people to value having expensive material goods - if they find themselves in an opportune situation, they're going to make the most of it. Especially if they already have very little wealth or possessions anyway.

The only people that should have been prosecuted were those who torched family-run businesses, that is unexplainable and disgusting.

I dont recall riots anywhere else like Norwich, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Cork, Dover, Orkney, Perth, Stirling, Portsmouth, Rhyll, Newquay etc

so the youth there are different from very small sections of London?

He lobbed it out of the car.... the armed officer wasn't aware, it was a split second decision.
It was a shame he was killed but it doesn't explain away the riots.

Why not? they use kettling and that's unlawful at peaceful protests? There will no doubt be a law change before summer so they can give these £200,000 babies a spin.

This discussion isn't about kettling, it's about water cannon. And the suggestion that they'll change the law to "take these babies for a spin" is, at best, ridiculous.

It's a measure used to control crowds at protests so not a million miles away is it? The changes they have already made to restrict protests in and around London and Westminster in particular means it's not that 'ridiculous' Please try not to be so disparaging with your replies it's really disconcerting.
