Applications for BB4 have to be in by next Friday, 17 January.
So if you're thinking of going for it, you'd better be quick!!
Has anyone applied or know of anyone who has? (I can answer "No" to both questions!).
Roll on BB4.......!!!!

Hi it would be great if we knew someone who auditions!
I really hope Channel 4 do a better bb4 than bb3,:dance::colour:
I haven't applied but i can't wait for the next BB! I just hope it's much better than BB3 and follows the format of BB2! :xyxwave:
A great big, definite NO to your first question, Di!
And No to the second one as well.
It really isn't long now to BB4, is it? I reckon it's roughly 18 weeks away!!

I tried to persuade the girl I work with to apply. I think she's got what it takes - up for a good laugh, etc.
I just think it would be so good to be able to say you are watching one of your friends on tv in the Big Brother house.

That's very true, Di - but how would you feel if the public took a dislike to them, as they did with Adele and Jade?
It must have been terrible for their friends to see and hear all the horrible things the press and media were saying about them, deserved or not.
Maybe that's why it's better that the housemates are complete strangers to us.

Good point, Kaz, I hadn't really thought about that.

Will be interesting to see how many applications they get this year. After all they had more or less double the applications for BB3, but after that series does it mean they will get a series of hopefuls who are exactly the same as those who have gone before. Imagine a houseful of Jades or Jonnys. Still theres bound to be plenty of
:bawling::blush::hugesmile: and not forgetting :love:
Will be interesting to see if the Reality TV bubble has burst or whether people are still up for their 15 minutes of fame.
Notice on the official C4 website:
Apply for Big Brother 4
ENJOYED Celebrity Big Brother? Then grab an application for the next instalment online and follow in Mark's tiny footsteps...
LAST CHANCE
20th January 2003
Wonder why they've extended the deadline? :conf:
Could it perhaps be that there hasn't been such a huge response this time round?
You decide . . . . . . . . .

Hubby pointed this out to me this morning off a telly forum he visits. It was under a heading for Big Brother 4:-
What about a one off, fame accademy style run up to it? with the public voting for the inmates?
Not a bad twist to the show, I think.

I am looking forward to BB4 as much as I did BB3.
The only reason for this is that after BB2 I was like a child in a sweet shop. I couldn't get enough.
What a huge let down. Instead of feeling satisfied I felt I had been lead into the shop with my hands tied behind my back , unable to get my fill of goodies.
I'm hoping this year someone will untie my hands and I will at last be able to enjoy myself again.
Please let it be better than BB3PLEASE:devil::devil::devil:

COULD it be worse? I really doubt it, but it could be much the same.
Of course we seem to be in the minority anyway in thinking BB3 was awful. Viewing figures and voting numbers suggest it was, as Mark Frith said, "a triumph".
What the producers of BB3 acheived was fast food TV. Like a televisual Big Mac, it appealed to millions, was ethically unsound, exploited lots of gullible young people, and as soon as it was over, it was forgotten.
BB2 was a meal which was a little slow to arrive, but when it did it was hugely enjoyable. You weren't sure what each course would bring, but you savoured every morsel. Years later you will remember it with affection.
The first kind can be churned out over and over again and is a sure fire winner.
The second requires care, patience and persistence.
I think we all know where the producers will go unfortunately.:bawling:

Rach I think your idea of e-mails is a good one, but remembering how they used and dumped Helen I cant see them going back again.
As for BB4 - last year we were all counting the days to BB3 and what a disappointment for those of us who want something that is more than cartoon type tv. Perhaps we will be pleasantly surprised. I am going into it with a very open mind this year.
However for me in years to come when people refer to Reality TV they will always go back to BB2 as an example of this genre at its best.
It will be interesting to see how many applications they have this year.

There is a often ignored law called the Law of Diminishing Returns
I predict we will be saying how great BB3 was compared to BB4, if that were possible

Many people believe though that BB2 was better than BB1, so you never know.
Although BB2 could have been the rare exception that proves the rule that sequels are not as good - A bit like Godfather 2.
