Yeah its doesn't bother me at all, even though I was brought up in the countryside where you needed flash lamps to get about at night. My kids don't really get on with the pitch blackness when we visit my Mum, they like a bit of light.

One advantage of none near me is like last night I got back at around 8pm and when I got out of the car the stars were breathtaking, seeing the sky at night in a clear North wind is spectacular

Yeah I must admit I do miss that though if I am out back I can see the stars but you don't get the inky darkness that you get with no light pollution.

..yeah, I have one as well, they never light the street lights here because we're on an energy saving drive...

Across the road.
There's one at the top of our driveway. It also has a 20mph sign attached to it. :dazzler:

Right infront of the garden, bloody annoying! For a couple of years I was in a house on its own 3.5 miles from any street lights, the difference in the sky on a clear night is crazy.

Get a blackout roller blind! Amazing. Just be careful not to sleep until like 3pm. I had my room in Uni halls completely blacked out with blinds, curtains, cardboard to fill any gaps... To the point where you couldn't see your hand in front of your face at noon in the middle of summer.
It was awesome.
