“battle” had broken out among
Labour MPs over its election manifesto.

failed to present a “cohesive” agenda.
Unite has donated more than £10 million
to the party since Ed Miliband came to
power and disaffiliating would cut off those funds. ]

I doubt Ed Miliband will rightly do much more than call his bluff on this one.

he Unions have their role to play but they cannot dictate to Labour and it seems clear from the posturing of Mr McCluskey that he is becoming aware that Ed Miliband is 'not' the pushover he maybe thought he would be.
In my view that can only be a good thing.

The truth also is there is 'nowhere',nowhere at all for Len McCluskey and his Union to go to that would likely do any more for him and his members.

Maybe it wouldn't all go if individual members decided to support Labour then they may still contribute, Ed Miliband knew he was risking losing a lot of funding when he started his reforms with the Unions.
This is why with his knowledge of that possibility, Ed Milband won even more of my rspect with his stand as to the Unions ongoing relationship with Labour.

Often when a door closes another opens and who knows what may happen as to funding but one thing is sure.
Len McCluskey, the Unite Union and their members are never going to get anything they even remotely like from the Conservatives, Lib Dems or UKIP, so they would likely be the big losers in the long run especially Len McCluskey with his pathetic threats and not in any way Ed Miliband.

Ed gets accused of being in the Unions pockets, it would seem that is a ridiculous charge the way he has got them being so petty since starting his reforms.
Clearly Ed has shown strength of leadership on this one and how odd now he gets no credit for taking on the Unions and this one particularly.

I don't ever expect to see David Cameron taking on any massive business for its practices which would be donating massive amounts to the Conservative party,so as I say Ed Miliband has both my admiration and respect for all he is doing and oddly enough I think it could gaing him more members and funding from elsewhere too..
