I am a mother of three without a lot of time. After my husband left us, I was forced to return to work as a paralegal. With two kids in highschool and another in middle school, needless to say, I am one busy lady!

Rejoining the work force and managing three beautiful (but busy!) kids with all their extra curricular hobbies, I was finding myself way too strapped for time. I decided that I needed some help. That's when a girlfriend suggested I get an egg-monitoring app. Egg-monitoring?! But I'm pre-menopausal!! I exclaimed.

Not THOSE eggs... lmao lol... The kind you scramble with bacon!

I was dubious. There's no way this could save me that much time. I mean, counting, monitoring, and recounting eggs in the fridge is a millenniums-old practice. No way this could get revolutionized! But after a few weeks of research, I was convinced. This was my way of FINALLY having a enough time to "have it all" (except a husband - who needs em!) But, like I said, three kids... new job... money was tight.

Well, I was out for a little power-walk through Chinatown, when I passed by a booth with a bunch of "as seen on TV" knockoffs. And there it was! An egg monitor app and tray! And for PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR versus what I'd seen at all of those high-end boutique egg tray stores. I slapped down my money, took the tray, and never looked back! That is, until...

Weeks later. I'm driving to a deposition. I know I have to pick up my youngest from cheerleading practice, when OH MY GOSH! I HAVEN'T COUNTED THE EGGS TODAY! I about get in fifteen different accidents trying to u-turn on a bridge in order to make it home and count my eggs, then chemical test for freshness and re-order based on age in the tray. Then I remembered! My egg counter!

I pull over to the side of the road, check my app and there it is! i have a full dozen eggs and they're all only two days old! Relieved, I continue to the deposition, pick up my daughter, and come home satisfied and successful. But when I get home, I open the fridge to realize that I ONLY HAVE ELEVEN EGGS. I had completely forgotten that I used one egg to make a carbonara pasta the night before.

NOW WHAT DO I DO??? I'M ONE EGG SHY!! Turns out, my off-brand egg monitoring tray only checks the eggs every 48 HOURS! What good is that??!!! Now i can't even trust that it knows which one is the oldest! Needless to say, I threw the tray out. I saved for a couple months and bought the real thing, and it works like a dream. My kids are happy and making great grades, I got a raise at work, and I'm even dating again! And through it all, I never ever have to worry about knowing my online egg count and freshness is accurate.

My advice... skip the cheap alternatives. Buy the real thing and enjoy your new life.
