Experts from U.S universities used carbon dating to prove the fragment is ancient and was written between the fourth and eighth centuries

The fragment is written in ancient Coptic and reads 'Jesus said to them, "My wife"' which if true could shake up the Church's views on celibacy

The Vatican dismissed the 8cm by 4cm piece of papyrus as a fake when it was unveiled in 2012 and some experts remain in agreement

He was using her as a cover for the fact he used to spend his days hanging out with 12 dudes.

Of course he was married, why wouldn't he be? Don't know why the church would be so against him being married tbh (probably to protect their assets from greedy widows lol) I watched an interesting documentary one time actually about Mary Magdelane, it was following paintings people did of her through time, she started off in the earliest drawings looking quite respectable and gradually more and more like a harlot.........

Because religion is run by sexually repressed men that don't have any sexual experience themselves. The ideal to them is virginity, in much the same way that virgins are more appealing when you're younger, but less desirable as you get older and would rather not have people trying to move your bits around at weird and vicious angles.

They never get themselves past that childish attitude towards sex.

tbf even if it is real it isn't really strong enough evidence alone to outweigh all that is written to the contrary, especially when its apparently dated 700/800 years after Christ's death

The new testament was written at least 100 years after the alleged death of Jesus and bearing in mind nowt was written down at the time can you imagine the guff that was "recalled" into that account

the whole thing is ludicrous in the extreme

I am more with you as to this one, I cannot see any reason why if he had been married it wasn't easily known at the time,in any event neither do I see any reason for a problem as to it either.

What he said and did, married or not, is for me anyway as to Christianity, the only things that matter.
