30 million? that's barely half of the population of the UK. at least 1 BILLION know the Jackson family, on every continent.

I can't even name any actors from American soaps, i doubt most british people know the soap actors there. for all the hoopla m,are about british soaps on BBC and the charity shows, how many british people actually watch that ****e? i really hope it's not as much as they think. If that many british peole are actually watching those lame soaps, then shame on you.

I think in this debate you have to differentiate between housemates that have worldwide fame and those famous in the UK. The show isn't shown in any other countries so worldwide fame isn't as important. Dennis Rodman was quite famous worldwide but, arguably, not that well known in the UK.
