Simon Cowell "keen on Kesha" for X Factor judge role, with former Spice Girl Mel B another favourite

Simon Cowell has tapped up Kesha to become the fourth judge on this year’s X Factor.
The American singer has been in talks with the music mogul for weeks about sitting alongside himself, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh.
Former Spice girl Mel B, who show sources say Cowell is “extremely fond of”, is also in the running.
One said: “Simon has held numerous conversations and is keen on Kesha. He thinks she’s edgy and would appeal to a different audience to the other three.
“He is keen to get an American in, just for a bit of variety. Nothing is signed but she’s a front-runner.”
Show chief Cowell has looked at various stars, including Olly Murs, who is on tour at the time and Ellie Goulding, who is not thought sparky enough.
Nicole Scherzinger isn’t returning, Robbie Williams is a no, as is Black Eyed Peas star Fergie.
Kesha, who until last month styled herself as Ke$ha, had a 2010 UK number one hit with We R Who We R.
She is a respected songwriter in the States and has reportedly sold more than 35 million records in America and 57 million worldwide.
However, in January this year she checked into rehab for six weeks of treatment for anorexia and bulimia.
Afterwards, she tweeted: “Happy to be back! Feeling healthy & working on tons of new music.”
