The Problem is
they are not used enough.
Soon London Buses will no longer take Cash (are you aware of that)
so you would have to go to a store that sells a pass
or pre -book on smart phone.
The Late Bob Crow
had some good points
but Everything Changes
as young folks go Hi Tech

..but with the buses though, they will still have to drive the bus so it won't mean staff reductions...

Are you in a Union?
There are No Staff Reductions
staff are moved to other jobs.
And some staff are happy to take the money
and sit down to watch daytime TV.

..companies always say no staff reductions though when they implement these changes but most of the time there are and not everyone wants to watch daytime TV...there must be a reason why the union aren't accepting this and are striking....

I would sack the lot of them and get new staff who are grateful to work

Yes The Union does not like the Future.
Those that are not stepping down
are able to move to other jobs.
The Unions do not want changes.

Will it mean changing contracts?.... my guess is yes. And as stated on the transport London website there are no guarantees that jobs are safe.
How often has that been said now? first with the refinery workers, then royal mail. now this...

Awww I love the old Routemasters, Salman. They should make the strikers pay for the overtime that they're causing. Reckon that'd get them back in the saddle.

I agree, sack em all and bring in new staff. The staff training should only take an hour or two , I mean pressing down on a lever and opening/ closing doors.
How hard can it be ?

How about everyone has 0hr contracts that is an unskilled worker and they have to work till they are 100?
Nedusa
29-04-2014, 01:23 PM
Or How about all manual unskilled workers getting paid a decent wage like the tube train drivers, I think it's about £40,000 to £45,000 a year.
Not bad for saying "Mind the Gap".........a hundred times a day

I might consider training to be a firefighter but not a teacher, judging by todays news that is far too risky.

I understand the principles behind the strike but it's so irritating that they are striking. Especially seeing as the next lot of strikes are all happening on the same days as a few exams of mine. I need the goddamn tube to get into uni. :bored:

Its a Shame Bob Crow died
as the Mayor Boris
had set up dinner with Bob in a Turkish cafe.
Bob and Boris could have worked out a way not to strike.
Reported On ITV1 London just now

One thing I have noticed that will become the norm after closing the manned ticket offices and you're reliant on the machines is they don't don't have the full range of tickets available. My daughter got charged a cheap fare to go to uni in Lancaster and back in a day in person, then when she tried to find that fare online or at the machine again it wasn't there.

Acting general secretary Mick Cash said: "Pre-conditions have been removed, protection of earnings has been agreed and we now have a viable framework for a proper review of the cuts and closures programme.
"As a result of that progress, secured directly through our members campaign of industrial action and the union's drive to get the facts across to the people of London, we are able to suspend the action due to commence this evening and further talks around the fundamental issues of cuts to jobs, services and safety will now take place."
Great news :)
