I'd re-write Brokeback Mountain so Ennis and Jack end up together. I would have it that Jack was attacked which drives Ennis to want to be with him forever to protect Jack and face everything together.

..yeah as Annie said the ending was completely changed, in fact the whole story was, the book was one of the most 'shocking' endings I've read and was the whole point of the story..Anna had never wanted the 'rights to her body' in the first place, it was her Kate who didn't want to carry on with her illness and the endless procedures so she persuaded Anna to do it so that she could just die..anyway after Anna won the case, as Ammie said, she was in a car accident and killed so her lawyer donated her kidney to Kate as he knew that's what she would have wanted...but there was also a huge 'side story' with their brother Jessie..he had always kind of felt 'without a purpose' or having no place in the family...because obviously their whole lives revolved around Kate's illness and Anna was only conceived to help save her...their father who was a fireman was being called to fires involving an arsonist and (if I recall)..in one fire, a vagrant was killed so it turned out to be murder as well and Jessie was the one starting the fires, so therefore a murderer and it was all to get his father's attention...the movie was just kind of..the movie was just not the same story at all...great book though, the whole point of Jodi Picoult books are the 'shock' endings, they all have them....

The butterfly effect has 2 endings. really freaked me out last time i saw it. i thought i was going nuts lol
