I would rather eat a horse.

"I slept like a baby last night"
Don't babies constantly wake up and cry most of the night?

''I could care less''
So you do care?
The original phrase was always "I couldn't care less"... Which makes perfect sense... I have no idea how it morphed into this nonsense. It seems to be an American thing. It grates on me every time I hear it on TV :/. Maybe it's supposed to be sarcasm? But it never sounds like sarcasm...

Many comedians have used that one... "slept like a baby last night!... I kept waking up crying, and I wet myself". Etc..
That said, a friend of mine has a baby who sleeps like a log for 12 hours straight. Maybe whoever came up with the phrase had one of those?

''I could care less''

I think it preempts the rest of the statement, 'I could care less...But I don't'
'I turned around and said' and 'at the end of the day' are two phrases that annoy me they are used to death and they don't really mean anything.

You can kill two birds with one stone..... no you can not because after you've hit the one bird with a stone the other one will just fly away.
Not a saying as such but
'Not to be rude but....' finishes the sentence by being rude.

"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"
... Is a bird really worth anything, anyway? I mean maybe some sort of rare bird, but... Just a normal bird? Could I quit my job and just go around swiping sparrows out of bushes?
