Good decision as he is too busy with the Euro elections and does not want to be sidetracked running a parliamentry election campaign.
Also with the Tories having around about a 16,000 majority in this seat it is unlikely Nigel Farage would win so all that effort would have been to no avail.
Better to concentrate on the European elections at this time and perhaps stand in a more marginal seat at a later date. one in which he has a realistic chance of winning.

He needs to concentrate on where he gets all his money from.
Farage isn't suited to being an MP really, suits him better to be outside the central politics sphere where he can criticise it much more easily without having to be involved himself

No one in any party wants a by-election a few weeks after a European election. If this idiot had resigned a few weeks earlier they could have had the by-election at the same time as the Euro election, but obviously he didn't want to make anything too convenient for anyone. I bet all the agents and activists are heaving a sigh of relief. Farage was never likely to be a candidate for this.
