I watched the pilot of The Vampire Diaries.

Well let's just say it was an experience that I'll never forget, Elena and Stefan lack any sort of chemistry or charisma full stop, constant montage Music playing in the background nearly made me want to scream, Elena's Brother is an annoying idiot, and was there really much going on in the episode other than Elena and Stefan's romance? Not really apart from Damon's very good 5 to 10 minutes towards the end, and the beautiful Bonnie's weird psychic abilities.

Now I know this show likes to kill a lot of people off in future episodes but is that all this show is good for? Or do some of the other characters actually develop well?

i held of watching vampire diaries for about 4 seasons. due to thinking yeah its just asilly love story type of show. but once you get into it , it pretty good. quite a bit changes it gets better as it goes on. damon rocks. as does the originals when they turn up
you got the whole brotherly hate love thing going on and the love triangle but i just love the sarcasim from damon.

i'm waiting for season 5 to end so i can binge watch it :)

It has the odd bit of good writing, the Season 1 and Season 2 finales were great but as soon as Damon and Elena got into a rleationship it went downhill big time and everyone stopped caring about them, the whole Originals storyline I found pretty interesting. Klaus, Rebeckah and Elijah are all great characters who carried the show from Season 2 onwards but nowadays it is one big mess that needs to end

It's not really my type of show anyway but against my better judgement I still gave it a shot anyway as I know that a lot of people love the programme so I wanted to see what it was like, but when everybody bar two characters are irredeemably annoying then I can't go back for more unless I hear anything special happens.

One thing I've got to give TVD writers is that they know how to cast beautiful looking girls for their programmes, I mean The Secret Circle did very well with Faye and Melissa in particular.

The first 2 series are good and worth a watch but by series 5 Elena, Damon and Stefan are pretty much insufferable. It's the side characters that keep it interesting now.

I agree about the show getting better. After a few eps it starts to improve, and I think during the 2nd season Damon has some great one liners, and there's the dark humor that runs through it. Sometimes the characters can be annoying and hypocritical, but there's always good storylines going and plenty of spooky excitement.

Also if you stick with the Vamp Diaries after the 4th season you'll have it's sister show to watch, The Originals. It's just as good, but with a totally different atmosphere.

Last I saw of this series he was back evil after they split up. I think I am a bit behind. Wish they would just leave the damon/elena stuff alone tbh..it was ok to begin with but then it totally ruined him :bored:
