View Full Version : MTV Could air Bit on the Side
its sister channel, it’s entirely possible that MTV will air Big Brother spin-off programming in the future.

I've seen people say this on twitter too, it likely tbh since MTV is now like a sister channel to C5
I don't know how I feel about this tbh
repeats or the actual thing?

I think it'll more likely air on viva, in fact i hope it does! I think it'll probably become the itv2/bbc3/e4 kinda young channel for c5

I doubt they'd air a sister show on a non-free view channel

Viacoms closest competition were
Discovery, Scripps and Modern Times Group.

This is merely speculation on bbspy's behalf. Non story.

Hi Sam i don't think this would be good for Big Brother or channel 5.

They won't move it to MTV. By doing that they will cut out a lot of viewers that do not have a paid TV service.
I would be all for repeats on MTV though if it means grabbing in a wider audience (MTV's audience fits the bill for a show like BB).

I'd say it might be repeats & bots on viva (viacom own that too)

I really doubt they will show anything BB related on any other Viacom owned channels, they will keep Channel 5 brands separate from the rest of their channels most likely, with only cross channel advertising.

No, they won't air Bit on the Side on MTV. They'll want to keep the brand separate and exclusively to Channel 5. It's Channel 5's best performing show besides CSI. Viacom said to all employees that it's business as usual so I can't see much changing.

Would love live feed and maybe the MTV subscription fee could pay for it?

Although the article never said anything about existing spin-offs moving, just that it would be possible for Viacom to air spin-offs on MTV if they wanted to (which is fact, not speculation).
I expect BOTS would remain on Channel 5 (or 5*), but if they wanted to draw a Big Brother audience to MTV they could, for example, do another spin-off featuring unseen highlights, like Diary Room Uncut or Nominations Uncut.

On the bright side, this might now mean Big Brother will be advertised on other channels like MTV?

BUT WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE SKY OR A SUBSCRIPTION
AND WHAT ARE C5 GONNA REPLACE IT WITH?
nothing else would be cheaper and attract as many viewers
