So now that TV has moved past film in most aspects it seems to be the new thing where film stars all want their own show. I think maybe Kiefer Sutherland was the first with 24 in 2001, but it's only really been the last 2-3 years that everyone else has joined in. Kevin Spacey (House of Cards), Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson (True Detective), Dustin Hoffman (Luck), Sean Bean (Game of Thrones), Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire), Jim Caviezel (Person of Interest), Timothy Olyphant (Justified), Dennis Quaid (Vegas), etc.

My question to you TiBB, is that with the success of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson on True Detective in particular, who will be the next big movie star to do television?

I think it's pretty much a given that it will actually be Matthew and Woody's replacements on True Detective that will be the next film stars to do it, just not sure who. Leo has a free schedule for a while so it'd be great if he done it.

Sean Bean's been doing TV for years, I'd say he's a TV star that does films rather than the opposite way round.

Netflix shows have a tendency to attract pretty big names, I reckon there will be a few big names involved with the four Marvel shows they're doing.
