View Full Version : Just one thing I'm STILL missing about eviction nights

I love how Channel 5 are doing things now, I do. There's just thing I still miss about eviction nights and that is Big Brother doing the eviction countdown and the eviction tension bed during the Housemates' walkout.

Marcus' countdown/voice saying "You have been evicted" doesn't have the same impact as the Big Brother voice, and I miss the tension music as the Housemate prepared to leave and walked to the top of the stairs. It's not a major thing, it's just something I miss.

Anyone agree?

Most people miss this tbh, your not the first, nor the last.

I miss the walk of shame and the closed off eviction stairs. Channel 5 evictions are absolutely vomit inducing and would make anyone want to axe the show on the spot which is why i'll probably skip the evictions this year apart from the final.

I miss meeting the ex-Housemates on Finale nights, like how Davina used to talk to them and it was a proper thing... not just strutting down a catwalk.

the evictions feel incredibly rushed and edited now and have a really nasty atmosphere to them (usually because you know a good HM will be evicted and the mob treatment is extremely unjust)

I just can't comprehend how stripping away everything that once made the eviction show amazing is apparently 'rejuvenation'. So baffled at how these decisions are made by qualified producers

So annoying when they're at the top of the stairs and Marcus is still screaming out LEAVE IMMEDIATELY

Yeah I really miss this! The eviction stairs need to be separated by a door or something so that the other housemates can't talk to the housemate getting evicted right until they leave. I love the walk of shame and seeing the housemate have that ten seconds to themselves where you can tell they are absolutely bricking it haha. BB7 eviction stairs were exactly what I'm talking about! And it made it easy to sneak a housemate to a secret room ect. Also I hate the music coming on when the housemate comes out as you don't hear the crowds reaction and the housemate doesn't hear the crowd either. So get rid of the music and please please please put the interview stage back indoors I hate constantly hearing the crowd during eviction interviews now and it really puts the housemate off so they can't air their views about being in the house properly and with it being a so called social experiment surely this is one of the most important components!!!

I feel exactly the same.

I have no problem with Marcus, I just think C5 overuse him. He used to be the narrator, now he introduces the host, does the eviction countdown and does the eviction message thing too. And it makes no sense, it should be Big Brother telling the housemate to leave.

I loved how it used to be done in a cold, emotionless voice. The way Marcus booms into the house strips away so much atmosphere from the eviction. His narration is getting over-the-top, too, complete with one-liners sometimes. I stopped watching BB14 around Week 5, but saw some of that Nemesis task in Week 7, and just remember Marcus doing some (I assume intentionally) comical commentary, in the style of a wrestling announcer. I really don't think it's needed.

BB, please have Marcus go back to just doing simple narration and stop trying to fix things that aren't broken for the sake of changing things.

But, you know what? Even though the instances of OTT narration irritate me, I'd be able to still handle it just fine if they went back to having one of the various BB voices doing the eviction announcement. It might seem like a simple thing, but it makes a world of difference to the atmosphere of the evictions for me.

But in general, I think they've stripped atmosphere from evictions nowadays. There's too much production involved now, with the music, the explosion noises, etc. Less is more.

I just think the show is just completely rushed, I mean 5minutes for the interview afterwards was a shambles and the eviction proccess is about 10minutes all together the rest is just edits from the day, I'd like a longer interview stint, channel 5 just seem to rush everything it seem's
