Devastating news.

NBC has closed the book on “Community,” canceling the Sony Pictures TV comedy after five seasons of underwhelming ratings, even with the rabid fan base the show has fostered via social media.

We can only hope Netflix or something takes the rights, but damn, so close to Six Seasons.

Season 5 was better than season 4 but I missed Donald Glover after he left. I only would've wanted season 6 if he returned. I am sad to see it end as it didn't really get a proper ending.

Season 5 being cut short and losing Donald really hurt it, but it was still top notch, up to Season 2 standards. Because of it's length, every episode had to be really quite quirky, no "normal" episodes, as it were.

Yeah, it worked with more episodes. It's a shame. Ratings weren't great but I wish it had been given even a 6-episode final season to tie things up.

I tried watching the first few eps of S1 but it kinda bored me... is it like Parks & Rec/30 Rock in that the first season is kinda weak but then it hits it stride? Because I might give it another go.

Exactly like Parks and Rec in that regard.

S1 is just setting stuff up really, Season 2 is the best and then Season's 3 and 5 are great too.

Skip 4, though.

Season 1 is still a good season but you can tell that it's trying to be a bit more mainstream, but season 2 & 3 is where Community hits it's peak of awesomeness, then season 4 is a bit ****ty because the main creator was sacked which then got reversed in season 5 which was a massive improvement on season 4.

Anyway I think Hulu or Netflix will pick Community up, I have faith.

Netflix will pick it up I think, Community is in a similar position to Arrested Development.
