A weird thing we used to do was go round looking at car wheels and stealing any coloured dust caps we came across, we used to collect/trade them etc :laugh2:

Basically just a football game, if you caught a shot in goals then everyone outfield had to line up and let the keeper hit 3 shots at their arses. You just kept playing it till your arses were complete agony.

there used to be a boy who was only SIX years old and would try to steal bikes from people and I think he had a knife too. we were only about 10 at the time and one of my mates beat him up and his thug parents went around the area looking for us. it was so scary

Roof riding - we used to wind the front windows on the car down a bit, so you could grab on, climb on the roof face down, then be driven around the country lanes trying desperately to hang on. It's one of those things that I always cringe about now looking back, as it was so dangerous.

I got into loads of trouble stealing dust caps when I was 8/9. Especially because we used to go for the silver ones. It was all very organised though and there would always be one of us on lookout. We were only caught because one of the parents discovered the stash hidden in a domino box.

"knock door run" how literal do you want to be, what a rubbish name for it. At least Ding Dong Dash is a bit clever and has the added bonus of having Dong in the name, therefore making it a big saucy for a kid's game

"The name Knock down Ginger or Knocky Door Ginger, used in Britain, comes from a piece of British doggerel:
Ginger, Ginger broke a winder
Hit the winda - Crack!
The baker came out to give 'im a clout.
And landed on his back."
none of your silly variations have historical origins
Run or Break a leg
Basically you used to run across a filed and if you didn't get across in 5 sec then the people who where hit had to try and push you over on the grass, Only like three people broke something tbh it was banned after 2 years

The knocking on doors thing is called 'knocky knocky nine doors' here. Has a nice ring to it :D
Bulldog was class, except one bloke always had his steel toe cap boots and would just launch kicks at everyone
Never did anything that bad really, did go through a bit of a shoplifting phase at one point which swiftly ended when I got caught one time, even though I did manage to blag my way out of it on that occasion

The knocking on doors and running away we called it knocky nine doors. We played rounders a lot, hide and seek, squash against the side of peoples houses. There was about 12 of us all knocked about together happy days. We were always outside in the summer. Then we got a bit older and started watching tv, wed night was @ mine for coronation street and dallas, thurs was @ susies for top of the pops and fame.

we used to dare eachother to go into the shop and ask for weird stuff like cabbage flavoured ice cream or 20 Benson and Hedgehogs, we thought it was hilarious
Used to have a trampy fella who lived in our village in a caravan for a while as well, we quite enjoyed tormenting him but he was a genuine nob so it was alright, started lobbing snowballs at his caravan one time and he came out chasing us saying he used to be in the Hong Kong police force and he could do us for assault

all the residents that lived in this GRIM building in my area were moved out in like 2003, but a bunch of polish people came out of nowhere two years later and squatted n used to sunbathe behind it during the day. I just remember that entire year consisted of us sneaking behind the building and throwing water balloons at them, it was so fun <3
there was also a rumour of a pedophile living there
that building doesn't exist anymore though it was demolished in 2009.

:joker: I'm not even sure why we called it that seeing as we definitely didn't have a doorbell on our house when I was a kid, think it was just what we called it round here. Aw I miss those days, all the kids that lived on my street moved away when I was still in primary school and we just never stayed in touch. Have most of them on Facebook now but obviously we have nothing in common anymore.
