Big Brother winner Pete Bennett and his band Daddy Fantastic have been lined up to appear at Stockton-on-Tees's first ever Freshers' Fair.
The tourettes syndrome sufferer will be top of the bill at the student spectacular on October 7.
Councillor Jean O'Donnell, Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: "Stockton welcomes all new students with open arms and the forward thinking, planning and preparation for this event will ensure its success and a great start to the academic term."
Town manager Sue Burgess said: "This is a fantastic coup for the town - to see Pete close. He won Big Brother by winning the hearts of the nation and I'm sure he will with the people of Stockton.
"Stockton is fortunate to have a prestigious university on its doorstep and we want to welcome all the new students to Stockton and show them what a great town this is - and all it has to offer."
The town will be rocking when the Freshers' Fair kicks off at 3pm when the first of a host of bands take to the stage, including local unsigned bands, courtesy of ARC Unsigned.
Daddy Fantastic will hit the stage at 7.30pm with a repertoire of both covers and their own material.

All these Pete fans crying and bitching because some of the places his godawful band will be playing in won't allow under - 18's.
It speaks volumes in a demographic phone bill paying way :spin2:
