All he said it has got to change.
You would think on a Live Interview
he would say the those 62 MP's will no
longer employ people on his hated Zero hours
Pathetic Labour Leader
and at the end he had a
Fake Smile

Sadly zero hours work plans are not wrong in law or as to any workplace guidelines, they are in my opinion 'morally' wrong and it would be better if they only existed for the likely minority who prefer them.
Since this Govt. will do absolutely nothing to stop or discourage the practice of zero hours then it is my hope that Labour will be true to its view that they should not be acceptable and that change is needed.
Of course it is the right of others to use the zero hours however I myself would agree this is not an example that is one of the better from some Labour MPs,I think they should be made to 'change' if this is true of course being the Daily Mail.
I am sure however they are not the only Party with MPs doing so,I therefore hope if elected in 2015,Ed Miliband will bring about change as to this issue.
This just highlights more that change is needed.
Sadly however, those operating zero hours contracts are, under this Govt and the one before it,doing nothing wrong really.

I am not a great fan of these "zero hours contracts" in principle they appear to offer more flexibility to people who cannot or do not wish to be tied down to regular formal hours. They would be more suited to younger people who are able to work in irregular shift patterns.
However in practice they are abused by employers to plug gaps in the working week when trade is busy. Typically employers will bring in staff to work only during really busy periods and when the workload drops off they are sent home. so in effect young workers are told to come into work only when it is really busy , they are worked to the bone and then sent home until the next busy period arises.
How can this be fair to be basically exploited for minimum wage worked to death when at work and only asked to come into work during really busy periods.
also under the terms of these contracts you are not allowed to work for anyone else, so you cannot earn extra money elsewhere.
I would prefer to see these contracts amended so that they provide a guaranteed minimum number of hours in any given period ie weekly or monthly.
currently these types of Contracts are only one step up from slave labour.

Is zero hours contracts akin to casual labour?

It's crazy when you think about it, for you have a Contract that effectively guarantees you nothing. You have a job but no agreed hours in which to work so you cannot ever plan to earn any amount of money.
Without any guaranteed income you cannot obtain a bank loan, Mortgage or credit. In fact this is no better than cash in hand work woth NO job security of any kind.
A complete step back in time and hard to believe any Govt would allow these types of Contracts to be legitimised under employment legislation.

62 MPs, if in fact it is true, out of around 258,not even a quarter, that says the Labour party under Ed Miliband are in fact more likely to be against zero hours work.
Now let us learn how many MPs there are from the other parties who are using zero hours at any time.
Ed Miliband says change to zero hours contracts is needed, if elected he will do hopefully something about those changes and then when changes are in place, deal with any of his own party who are then doing wrong, which sadly they are not at this time under this coalition Govt as to zero hours contracting.
I agree it is morally wrong in my view but not against the employment laws in any way whatsoever and the only people who can change that at present is the current Govt we have.
Clearly they intend to do nothing at all as to zero hours contracts.

Loads of people work for MPs for nothing to gain experience and show it on their CV. Some MPs can't wipe their own backside without someone scheduling it for them and often hours are long and the thanks non-existant. There's all kinds of exploitation goes on in all the parties... it'd make your hair curl.
