View Full Version : What education do you have?
I'm just curious as to what education people took after finishing secondary school?
I've done an art and design course for 3 years now, and now that I'm 19 I no longer get free education so have to pay at least 1k to join other courses..
I was thinking of doing a media hair and make-up course which offer a lot of opportunities in working within television. I also want to do an English language A-level
no plans for uni just yet.. the cost puts me off a bit

2 years A-levels then didn't want go straight to uni so signed up for a couple of quick NVQs just to get myself into work for a couple of years and am now about to complete a 3 year Graphic Design degree.
I'm well and truly sick of education, college, school, projects, homework etc etc. Had enough. This is it. No more.

English. I was going to go into digital publishing at one point, but switched and want to focus on travel journalism but still have an interest in digital publishing and linguistics.

ma hons in geography
About to finish a BA in Lit and History and almost certainly doing a Masters next year in early modern history
I finish A-levels in Business, ICT and Media in 3 weeks. Then to uni to study media, then hoping to either get a PGCE and teach it or move to London and work in TV/film/advertising.
Not entirely decided yet, but I have another 4 years to figure it out.

Meh Psychology is very overrated and not worth the degree nowadays.

Just finished my AS exams (well I have a Spanish one left), I plan to drop economics and do A2 Spanish, English and sociology and then go to uni and study Spanish + another language from scratch.
I hope to travel or do anything that involves a lot of talking other languages. Kinda bored of speaking English
I haven't finished secondary school so I probably don't count but hey that's my plan at least

Tbh it depends how the Masters goes, if I enjoy the step up and do well with it I might stay on in academia and study further, it's something I'm quite well suited to I think. Ideally I would actually like to be a historian but we'll see

I tried to help my Spanish teacher out with her year 8 class and they're absolutely awful. I remember my class being like that too, but I actually tried to learn, whereas this class has no person that wants to be there. Maybe just because it's language but it's so sad to see :(

I just didn't put enough effort in (bane of my life). Tutor kept giving me notes for improvement but I just didn't bother. "Just good enough" was alright for me.

I hated everyone at my school and most of them where going to 6th form so thank god I didn't go (I didn't know this at the time) College is way better

Ahh, I didn't continue it was at another college and I had to be there at 9AM which would mean I'd have to get the bus at 7AM and I'm not about that life...

I think English people have a bad mentality when it comes to languages, it always annoys me that every other country other than English speaking ones learn more than one language and even though English is the "main" language I think it's important we learn others
But I'm probably only saying that because I'm good at them ha

I agree we all should know English but I hate this ignorance towards other languages English people have. Like just because you already speak English you shouldn't just give up on wanting to know other languages they're soooo useful
Everyone I say this to thinks I'm stupid except old people/my teachers though
