One of my friends just showed me this, I think it's a great idea! What do you guys think?

It's a great idea! Less of an eyesore than panels and things especially in countryside areas plus they don't have to build anything new for people to moan about they just have to add to what's already there.

great idea... but I also don't think that the world is as in danger as the media lets on.

It sounds positively utopian. How much is it going to cost? They skipped that bit.

...any basis for this or just random scepticism? Because it's hardly just the media.

^ just the fact that the earth has been cooling down and heating up since time began

i think that the earth could do with using less damaging resources, but I don't think it's as bad as people think

I dont want to sound rude, but if you think we are living sustainably on Earth, I don't even know what to say to you.... :idc:
The media cares diddly squat about the environment, how is talking about the environment going to make them money???
We are slowly but surely destroying the planet and I thank god we're starting to find brilliant solutions like this one to prolong the biodiversity and resources on this planet

It's scientifically proven that CO2 emissions traps solar rays, therefore heating the Earth. :suspect:

that's not what i'm saying

i'm saying that there have been drastic temperature changes since time began. yes, humans might be affecting the earth now, but all I'm saying is that I also think it's just part of how the world has always worked.

Ninastar doing her bit for international relations LOL...

No one's said anything about the cost yet! Yes it's a great idea but imagine the cost of covering just one dual carriageway for one mile with these panels. I pay a fortune in road tax already, and yet the roads in this country are in a terrible state. And apart from the initial start-up and production costs for these panels, what kind of resources are going to be needed to power the equipment that makes the tiles? Once the whole world is coated with them we'll be sitting pretty power-wise, but until then, how are we going to produce them? What's the cost? What's the logistics of covering every road with them? It's pie in the sky stuff.

People in the West are giving every concern to living more sustainably and it annoys me when people say no one cares about us living sustainably. If people want to get all bent out of shape about saving the planet, go and have a look at India and China, see the amount of sh1t they're pumping straight into the stratosphere with no regard to what they're doing, while I can't use a light bulb that isn't energy efficient and pay God knows how much in green taxes, including the most expensive petrol in Europe, maybe the world! Have a word with the Chinese and the Indians and tell them to shape up too.

I think it's a great idea but yeah the cost... That's a bill I wouldn't like to see.
